They strung us along on a delivery order saying yeah there was a lot of orders tonight he should be there soon". 2.5 hrs later he hadn't left the restaurant yet. We cancelled our order and won't be ordering ever again."

When you advertise fresh home-made fare at least be sure to send it out unfrozen. Not only was our food cold but still froze in the middle. Never again.

Terrible food! Stay away. Far away. The chinese food was by all means the lowest quality we have ever tasted, super salty. We asked for a salad we got lettuce tomatoes and a bottle of kraft salad dressing..lolSuper salty an

By far the worst restaurant I've attended... Portions are wack and so are the prices. Service is non exsistant, Sub par at best.

Excellent and friendly service. Restaurant is over 60 years old and original decor/furniture is still intact. I love the old-school Chinese restaurants! Menu is limited, (compared to big-city Chinese restaurants) but this is understandable, since the town is very small, therefore they do not get enough customers to expand their menu. Food quality is definitely Chinatown worthy. Very affordable and enjoyable!

For take out Chinese, I am glad to have golden city in our community. The dining area is closed for covid, but that might be for the best. Food is definitely worth it though.

Don't waste your time or money!!! This place is a joke!! Its dirty and ran the heck down. Service was the worst I've ever had. Really overwhelmed waitress who didn't give us our drinks. No table checks no manors at all!! The best entertainment of the meal was the staff one waitress and one cook. They were fighting yelling and screaming making people in the restaurant feel uncomfortable. Brutal experience. Seen an elderly lady at the other table walk over to the coffee machine and pour herself a refill. Can you imagine??? Then the waitress wouldn't come out of the kitchen. We were all standing around waiting to pay our tab!!! When she finally stopped fighting with the Cook she came out. So I gave her a round of applause!!! Thats the only thing she deserved. What a mess!!!! Dont come to this establishment!!!!

Horrible, horrible place. Food is mediocre, service is bad, and JESUS it smells wierd. The smell of the restaurant is an overpowering scent not dissimilar to some antique stores. However it is MUCH more potent and distracts from the food. The waitress was disinterested and never refilled our water, she also denied us any menu items containing egg, saying they took too long to make. Like if you aren't going to serve egg salad sandwiches please remove them off your menu. The chicken salad was terrible and contained little to no chicken, mostly just onion and lettuce blended together.Other reviews mention this place is meticulously cleaned but I beg to differ. If you think this is clean please go visit the Tim Hortons accross the street, that place is clean and built in the last century. No one should marvel at the retro aspects of this restaurant, it's not retro, it's rundown and has waterstains on the ceiling. The eastern ontario health unit really needs to give this place a better look.

We are fairly new to the area and we were hesitant to try this Chinese restaurant because of all the lousy reviews but we figured it's the only Chinese in town and how bad can Chinese food really be, right? WRONG!! Worst chinese I've ever had...the rice tasted fishy, the egg rolls were super dark (I'm thinking their oil needs to be changed?), I fed the almond chicken soo guy" to the dog because the meat was so tough and covered with what tasted like KFC gravy

Could be a viable restaurant if the service wasn't such a joke. Here's a tip, if you can't make it to a delivery within an hour and a half, DON'T OFFER DELIVERY!!!! Waited an hour for our order to come today at which point they finally decide to call us and let us know that they are backed up and couldn't get our order to us for another half hour to 45 minutes" THEY WAITED AN HOUR TO LET US KNOW! When I asked if they would offer a discount or compensation of some sort they offered nothing. What a complete joke. They've definitely lost me and my family as customers for life."
