Severn Dam Reservoir

Great out of the way camping spot for free!!! Tons of fish and startlingly epic views of the prairies. Was not that busy even during a long weekend. So nice to be able to show up and camp without having to go on a government web site three months in advance to make a reservation. Be sure to bring your own firewood and supplies and then clean up after yourself. Enjoy!

A quiet and free spot to camp. Lots of nature with pelicans, shore birds, ducks and geese. Easy to get to. Roads are a quagmire when it rains however. Pit toilets, fire rings and several picnic tables available. Small dock for launching kayaks and canoes.

Great place to spend the night. Lots of space along the lake, the fish were jumping almost all day long!

Awesome free place to camp. Didn’t try fishing as it sounds like it’s pretty hard to catch anything here. Fire pits at most of the sites. On the north side of the lake is where most of the large trailers and rvs park as the road is pretty easy. On the south side of the lake the road is a little bit more treacherous, but totally do able for a suv/car. Would not recommend taking a large trailer or rv on the south side.

There were spots to park and set yourselves up and have your own space. Firepits in some of them. People have left a lot of garbage there unfortunately. Dogs enjoyed it.

Great Crown Land camping but make sure your rig had plenty of mitigation in place for mice! They get in and nest in no time! Also keep in mind, if you don't like wind, don't go here! Also, keep an eye out on the AHS site for blue algae.

Very nice place for free camping

It's not very nice.Fish and wildlife really should come and get these illegal fisherman who fish at night and don't even have a license off the property for good. They're depleting the lake of any fish.

Nice little spot in the prairies. Haven't had any luck fishing, but that's probably my fault. Unfortunately, Wheatland County seems to have deemed this to be day use only now. A no camping sign has been posted. It's a shame, there were a number of couples that would set up their trailers and stay for the summer. It was like having built in grandparents. I hope that they will be able to find somewhere else for their community. Or hopefully the County will reverse this disappointing decision. The rating would have been 5 stars otherwise. There are a couple of cement picnic tables , a number of fire pits and two outhouses. No skylight or lights so make sure you take a light to the toilet with you.

Went here fishing on a recommendation from a friend. Water looked very unhealthy and there was garbage here and there. Not really impressed with the locals and their ability to leave no tracks. Also not really happy with the effects of agricultural runoff on this body of water. Kinda makes me feel sick. We humans can do better. Cellular and 4G service was GREAT! :P
