Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle
Delicious broth and the soft and chewy noodles taste fresh. The tendon was tender and fatty and the tripe was soft and absorbed a lot of flavor from the broth

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle
My daughter flew into Vancouver for Christmas so on Christmas day we went to Aberdeen Centre in Richmond. She used to get shaved ice from Chef Hung and wanted to go there to get some. She ordered Mango shaved ice with bubble topping. They charged her $11.05 and gave her a container which was barely 1/4 full and when she asked them why it wasn't even close to full they said it was all based on weight and some sometimes it is higher and sometimes lower. She felt totally cheated and that their explanation was total garbage. If they can so boldface cheat someone on Christmas day like that you have to wonder about all their other food practices. Based on this I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle
Very good beef noodles and soup. The spicy noodle soups aren't overly spicy and also have a lot of flavor (The spice isn't overpowering and doesn't ruin flavor). The proportions are either average or above average and also very filling. Besides the amazing food, the staff was good and very nice (had no problems with them). I definitely will recommend this to friends and come back as there are a wide variety of dishes (including things besides noodles like fried rice dishes or chicken cutlets).

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle
We went for lunch on lunar New Year’s Eve. The A1 and A2 beef noodle soup with flat noodle tasted really good. I would give the noodles five stars. The reason for the four stars is because the 小笼包( soup dumplings) didn’t taste fresh - the meet tasted like it was frozen. Also for the drinks when we ordered milk tea with pearls we were told we needed to wait an hour for them to be ready. Otherwise staff was very friendly and would absolutely go back for the noodle soup again.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle
Pros: Pretty decent Taiwanese noodles. There was a nice selection of noodle and broth choices. The side dishes (xialongbao 小龍包) and beef wrap were also quite homey. Taste was good and not as salty as some of the other reviewers have ntoed. The wait was not too long despite the lunch rush. Well done. Location is also nice inside Aberdeen mall with parking and washrooms.Cons: Only reason this is four stars and not five stars is some of the weird behaviour from the host/usher fellow. After having us sanitize and wrote down our contact info, he rushed to the table and waited for us impatiently there, even though my wife is pregnant and cannot walk that fast. When my wife and I sat down he gave us one cup of hot water and one cup of tea. When we sat down opposite of the seating arrangement he expected, he then switched the cups of tea and water around without any explanation, so we had to ask the next server for more tea. Also, I was speaking Cantonese to him the whole time but he kept speaking Mandarin and English in response, whereas I saw him speaking Cantonese with other guests, which was bewildering.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle
We had a beef noodle soup with rice noodle, beef wrap and xiao long bao (steamed pork soup dumplings). The noodle soup was delicious and was not that salty as others reviewed so we were relieved.Xiao long bao was plain, nothing special. The beef wrap was also decent but there was not really anything too special about it.The staff were very friendly and quick. I recommend others to try the place!

We go here all the time with my mom. We love this place. Staff is friendly and efficient + always makes sure the tea is refilled! The food is great, and the portions are massive. After eating the mall is great to go around and walk around too!

Delicious noodles, price is decent. They also have some good variety of other food selections available. Service is quick and to the point. I wouldn’t say they are friendly, but certainly will bring what you ask without questions asked.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle
This used to be my favourite noodle place for a long time but lately the prices are higher and the broth is extremely salty. I’m someone who likes food pretty salty, but I had to add a lot of water to the soup just to be able to eat the noodles. The salt overpowers any other flavour.A few years ago I’d recommend this place to everyone but the quality is unfortunately not as good as before.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle
Chef Hung has superbly delicious dishes. They are not only known for their delicious beef noodles, but also for the various pastries/dumplings/buns and wraps. For the first time, we had their lunch combo special, which is comprised of both beef noodle soup, shredded beef on rice, pickled vegetable, mango pudding and a special drink. Each item in the lunch-combo is outstanding in its own right. We have been here many times (lunch and dinner) and have always had fantastic meals. Highly recommended!
