If looking for a Monitoring Solution go elsewhere.Cancelled over 2 years ago. No contact ever made after closing my account over the phone. Nothing by mail, nothing by email. Went to redo my mortgage and found a outstanding charge from them for $189. Called them and was told my account was closed and no notes were made from closing agent about the charge. She advised us that there was a charge and that was that. This was in the morning about mid day I received a call from a colletions agency. NO BILL ever sent no contact on their part to reach out if there was it would have been paid years ago. I am certain she saw that the account had gone to collections and did not know what to say.

Their office relies too much on technology. They don't answer the phone and their robot says things that aren't true. Lots of time on hold, repeated phone calls that went all over western canada. Eventually got what was needed but too much time arguing.

I would give them a zero but this is not an option. My account was transferred from United Alarms to SecurTek and this company is an absolute joke. SecurTek does not care about their clients and the people they are supposed to protect. I called them about six months with the initial intent to cancel my account and they said they would call me back with options to improve their services but I heard nothing. Two weeks ago, we had a flood that destroyed my basement. This could have been avoided if they installed a water shut off value. Also, the water sensor in place didn't go off. Don't bother calling them at the number they provided in their response as I just called them and all they said was that I have to give them 30 days notice to cancel my account.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! If I could give this awful company 0 stars I would. Buyer beware, they will hose you for every last penny you got. Do not sign any contract with them, better yet, go find yourself someone else because if you decide to move, or want to close the contract they make you pay the remainder of it. Their system doesn’t work half the time either. Just trash, better off with Telus to be honest!!!!

I would give negative stars if it was possible. I spent over $3000 with this company literally for just a smoke detector. Previous (and current) systems advised me if there were any issues with any of our equipment. Securtek chooses NOT to inform the customer. We finally realized this was happening when my house flooded (yes I paid for a flood sensor) and my husband entered the house a few times without disabling the alarm and nothing happened. When I contacted Securtek, I was told a service man could be sent out at a charge. I cancelled right then. I had a couple months left in my contract and was billed for that (which I understand). What makes me so angry is I spent this money for security for my family and they didn’t have the decency to let me know something was wrong with my equipment? Disgusted and will continue to let people know.

I have received two phone calls now from BDO collections in the past week .I had Securtek when I lived at my previous residence. This was over 3 years ago. Had I known or was made aware or any outstanding charges I would have paid it right then.Now I have a $320 bill that is in collections and is killing my credit. If I could leave a more negative review I would.Thanks for nothing Securtek

Won't take calls for issues with my account.. tried several times to get through.. if they do answer won't talk to me without password.. every password I have ever used apparently not the 1...lol finally I stopped payment for my account. .. if your reading this new customers run away from this company

BUYER BEWARE. Very unethical company.So several nights ago at 1:30AM, our keypad randomly started beeping and wouldn't stop. I called Securtek support (with 45 minutes on hold at 1:30AM). Apparently there was a system wide network problem for all customers. Their only suggestion to get it to stop beeping is to unhook the power.Tried to hook it back up to power, and still beeping.Apparently monitoring is done by SecurTek and field service is through United Alarm.To make a long story short 4 days later, I still don't have a working alarm system. I wasted around 5 hours of my time dealing with this. SecurTek is pointing fingers at United Alarm. United Alarm say that their partnership was a huge mistake and are blaming SecurTek.So, they can't come out to do a service call for almost TWO WEEKS. This would leave me without alarm service for almost 2 1/2 weeks.I told SecurTek that I wanted to cancel. They say that there is a 30 day cancellation policy, and that they have to charge me still. I told them that I don't even have alarm service with them. They DON'T care. All they want is your money.It does have a happy ending though. I called a competitor, and they are coming today to install a new system TODAY! Go figure SecurTek/United Alarm can't come for two weeks, and their competitor comes the same day.Also, don't be fooled by their We care about our customers and are dedicated to providing them the service they need and deserve". When they say this they are LYING to save face and trick other people into subscribing."

Tried calling for weeks to cancel my account with them. Didn’t answer any of my calls. I left voicemail after voicemail saying I wanted to cancel their service. Nobody ever got back to me from there. I canceled my credit card payments to them via my bank. I had to because they never answered any calls to cancel my account and never called me back. And later still received a bill. Kept receiving bills after all my calls and messages. Then they forwarded my bill to a collections agency. This place is a nightmare. If you try to leave they’ll just keep billing you and not answering your calls.
