Whitby Courthouse Theatre

Beautiful theatre located right near downtown Whitby. Quite large considering the location and has a historic vibe to it due to the location inside the centennial building. Adequate seating and vast space throughout for performers and crew alike. Spent 3 years there working in the tech booth and I highly recommend the shows as they are hidden gems for a steal!

It is March 29th, 2022. Even the province has lifted the cruel and unnecessary v passports, but this theatre continues to enforce them. Thank you for discriminating against people who just want to make what should be a private medical choice. So disappointed and disgusted. They have definitely lost my support.

Beautiful building with a lovely architectural interior. Talk of hauntings from when the building was a courthouse!!

I watched The Addams Family Musical. It’s a rare experience to sit in an old building such as this to watch a play in what was once a courtroom now a intimate and cosy little theatre.

They have consistent quality as a small time theatre company. Good productions.

I was fortunate enough to visit the Whitby Courthouse Theatre with my dad to watch the Music Man" on opening night. The cast was flawless. It really showed the hard work and practice they put into their roles really paid off. The history of the building itself is nothing short of incredible as well. Definitely something to see."

EXCELLENT! We saw The Adams Family, A musical. All teens from Grade 9-12. Singing, dancing, audience interaction. A job well done. Standing ovation. Love supporting local talent.

We've seen Next to Normal" and I was blown away! The script

I remember performing plays here as a child. Well, we shall limit that to attending casting calls.Anyway,Without actively searching out events, activities, exhibits here. One is missing out. It's not just a pretty face lift, revolving interests are addressed but you have to be proactive in the research.The not so, A→B way of saying, advertising had a very limited budget. As it should be, in the general schema of community centers.Parking, over-enthusiastic.Building, nicely renovated mid-nineteenth century, 'classic-revival' court house. Now known as the 'Centennial building'. Aged residents may still tell tales of the hauntings and 'the crying lady'. BOO!
