Pleasant View Motel & RV Park

Perfect for families! We loved our stay at Pleasant View, we travel often so know what to expect for $100/night motel with pool, however we were 'pleasant'ly surprised. I highly suggest you spend the $15 extra per night for the larger unit with kitchen. The simple two queen bed room is cramped and we had our dog so we would have been stepping on each other. The pool was a bonus! The motel is directly across the street from Tim Hortans, Dairy Queen and a grocery store. You can't beat the location! Dog vacationers- this place is perfect to bring your dog, you walk right outside to a large grass area for bathroom breaks.The rooms are dated but this is common in motels. Our room was clean, bathroom looked like it had been recently painted and tub area fixed, so you know they are doing some improvements.We actually have no complaints. think of the price and be realistic on what you are getting and you will be really happy with your stay.

Well, where do I start? Point form is easier.- Our room was not what we reserved- Manager was rude.- The coffee pot in our room was not cleaned from the last customer.- The room was moderately clean at best.The entire room is in need of a dusting and the carpet has had it.- This is 2017 and the comp shampoo and conditioner best before date was dated back to 2015.- The airconditoning at times sounded like a hit and miss engine and some stuff flew out of it when we fired it up.- The tv ? 5 channels ? In this day and age?- The bathroom simply needs Mike Holmes and his crew to take it to the studs and re-do it. It's rough and moldy in spots.- I gave it 1 star because I slept pretty good in the bed.You might ask, with so much to say about this place why did I stay? Because Every place within the area (102 hotels/motels) were sold out.Recommend? Nope.Am I coming back? Nope.It did bring back fond memories of the musty smell of the old hunting camp when I walked in.............1 star is plenty for this old place.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS PLACE!Upon booking a standard room at the Pleasant view motel and RV park a quick e-mail reply was sent from the reservation inquiry on the website stating that there was openings and the rate of the room ($105/night for mid august) - once I phoned to secure the booking the owner tried to charge me $110/night and hassled me until I told him I had proof that he sent me an e-mail.... OH WAIT THERE IS MORE...Once we arrived the owner was rude and tried his hardest to make us change room to pay more per night - let alone that the standard room does NOT have a mini-fridge as promised on the websiteI did not have any trust for the owner and checked my visa charges cause I had a feeling me was a very dishonest man - I WAS RIGHT - he not only charged me for the 2 nights at $105/night but ALSO charged an additional $117.00 WITHOUT TELLING ME, while upon our arrival he told me he was unable to put any charges onto my credit card because it did not go through - THIS IS ILLEGAL!The room we were given was also infested with ants, the water pipes rattled throughout the night and the traffic out front the hotel is constantTHIS HOTEL IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY, HASSLE and STRESS of dealing with the owner trying to take you for every penny he can - let alone the facilities are infested with aunts and smell like outhouse detergent....We are on vacation, how hard does it have to be?sincerely,a very unhappy customer.

Not happy with this business owner. Had a room booked and needed to reschedule do to flight delays. Called and spoke to the owner to cancel and rebook for one day later then originally booked. I was told there were several vacant rooms available for the day I required accommodations. On the he day I arrived I noticed a payment had already been taken for the original booking. Since mistakes happen and I was willing to be patient for the error to be refunded and was willing to pay for the accommodations I received but not not extra. I was also charged a fee for for not canceling even though I did in fact cancel with the owner! However in the end I was over charged and billed for an extra day. No adjustment or refund. So disappointed. The worst is that the owner is very poorly skilled in communication and also very rude. Would only like a refund for the over charge. I am now a local. I highly recommend not staying here nor at their other motel “Slumber lodge” in Penticton BC.

It was okay. I think the reviews might be a bit too harsh. Sure there really is only maybe 4 channels and the wifi is garbage but I'm giving it 4 stars with the fact this is a 2 star motel in mind. What do you expect going in? I did see a single ant so maybe ant person was right. I can see where issues with the owner may have occured because he is Chinese and hard to understand. You just have to be polite and patient as he was a very nice fellow. I don't see the problem with credit card stealing. I was accidentally overcharged but I got it back without problems.Bed comfy, ac was cool, not much to complain about. Good experience.

I stayed at this motel this past July and had a delightful stay including a late evening 1/2 hour power outage due to an electrical storm. Thunder in the mountains, nothing like it. The room and pool area were adequate, and yes the traffic noise from the highway is somewhat loud but the views of the lake and neighboring orchards are fantastic. Don't know if the other unfortunate review was recent but I found the current owner to be quite a character.

If you just need a room and a shower for the night and with no expectations of anything special, it would suffice. One major issue my friend encountered was an additional $150 fee billed above the authorized and agreed upon amount. The owner stated it was normal and will refund this fee. The probplem is that this was not mentioned at checking in to rooms and not discovered until reviewing credit card statements. A top tip is to ask to see your room first and have alternate options in mind.

It was a very bad experience staying in this motel. The property was not managed properly. The air conditioner was in such a bad codition it was too old and very much noisy. The bed mattress was very old and very soft. We even complained the owner about that but he didn't do anything about it. Even he didn't return the deposit after we checked out. The owner said he would not return the deposit money because of our poor reviews. Now my husband is going to call the RCMP and the lawyer about this situation. I hate to write this but the owner of this motel is a rip off.

Friendly owner was a plus. Air conditioner didn't work so sleep was uncomfortable. Lots of ants in the the bathroom and bedroom. The area of the motel seemed a bit questionable with cars that had smashed up windows and people camping in the parking lot. Not a great place if you are looking for kid friendly/safe stay. Wouldn't stay there again.

Room was disgusting. Within 5 min 4 spiders were found in the sheets of my bed, not to mention hairs from the last guests. When checking in the employee told us oh yeah someone threw a rock through the window last night but as you can see i dont get paid enough to clean it up. We tried to get our money back but owner is completely rediculous and wouldnt do it. Blamed it on his cleaners and said they will be paying for this. Totally unprofessional and should be shut down
