Queen's Village

I was employed by this Stressful work environment. Filled with bed bugs mice and other pests. Many of the staff simply do not put in quality of care or effort we are often working short handed. The bed bug problem is getting out of hand at this point they truly are in nearly every single room yet noting is getting processed properly. Staff is also extremely underpaid making just .50 above minimum wage without the employer doing anything to improve quality of life for who she hires.

I have worked here for 12 years. The staff have the biggest hearts anywhere. We have problems like anyone else but the staff pulls together like a family. We genuinely care for our residents, they are the reason we come to work, and everyday they put a smile on our faces.Corinne McGee

I was private hire to look after resident as Queens was unable to fulfil their responsibilities. I was also employed by Queens, they have one or two committed employees, but lack of care for the residents begins at the top and filters all the way to the bottom. Private care is nothing but a money making venture with your loved ones paying the price. I would never willingly leave someone I loved in that environment.

Use to work here in 2019. Loved the staff and they truly care and try to do their best with such a horribly run facility. Broken elevators, lack of hot water, HORRIBLE BED BUG PROBLEM!! Management/owner were very shady and bend the rules a lot and tried to get PSWs to do things out of our scope of practice, lots of medication errors due to this. Care needs not being met and lots of neglect due to lack of staffing. Would NEVER put a loved one in here! Would not recommend!

Back when my Grandmother was first rehomed to Queens Village, I came into town to make sure she was in good hands. Seeing the way the layout for dementia patients was layed out thoroughly impressed me, as it keeps them safe and secure on their main floor. There's plenty of games and activities for the residents, and the staff are wonderfully empathetic towards their clients.I know my Grandmother is in good hands here. And at the end of the day, that's what matters most.

They have an extreme case of bed bugs and have had them on and off for 8 years. They will not hire an outside professional extermination team, and have been trying to do it in house and have never been able to get rid of them. They use pinsol which has a very strong odour and the amounts the use make it hard for the elderly people to be able to breathe especially when they quarantine them inside for 14 days. An elderly ladies rocking chair was infested with bed bugs and had gotten into a wound she had as she sits on her chair everyday. Would not recommend a loved one to live here. Very dangerous and unhealthy place to live.

The staff on the Memory Care floor are amazing and go above and beyond to treat their residents as if they were their own family! Is the place new and sparkly and shiny? No. But I slept well at night knowing my dad was getting the care he needed from the wonderful staff. And the food...awesome!!!

BED BUGS .. AGAIN (or should I say STILL)Clearly this home isn’t getting a proper professional bug company to get rid of them. This shouldn’t be such an ongoing problem for YEARS...Many staff have been great, but have also been quitting to go elsewhere.Please reconsider before you bring a loved one here.
