Simcoe and District Humane Society

Absolutely terrible place. You can not get ahold of them. I am calling three days non stop. They also close at 3 pm so if you are lucky enough and you get to talk to them that will be impressive. And the reason I am calling them so much because I adopted a cat through petsmart/simcoe human society and he was an amazing cat but he resently died after having a tough few days suffering from feline leukemia that he had all his life and I never new.. In his vet papers though it's been said that he is not sick and had the vaccine for feline leukemia. I went through suffering so did my cat and if I knew of his sickness I would proceed with treatment right away rathe think that he is a healthy young kitten. Me and his vet couldn't do much for him but ease the pain with some medicine. They don't want to face me or answer my questions and escape me in every way. Terrible terrible place that does not care about animals and their wellbeing.

I adopted a kitten and it was a pretty quick transaction in person. They were easy to communicate with over email. The kitten is healthy and doing amazing. They provide you with some food to take home as well.

Kathy is an amazing women. We owe you a huge thank you for allowing us to adopt such a super loving and smart kitty

Talked to a very nice employee there while dropping off dog, cat and kitten food and a variety of treats for their Christmas. Please everyone support Simcoe’s Humane Society or your local branch. They need our help

Adopted my new baby from here. Great experience

I would not support this place. Paid last June 2022 for a cat to be fixed through their spay/neuter clinic. Never heard back until I started e-mailing and calling. 1 e-mail and 2 calls later Cathy Hoskins finally contacted me. Her excuse and she always has one every time there has been an issue was he didn't get on the list. I got my money back but that wasn't the point I needed to get this boy fixed so he could be in the house this winter and not out populating the females that aren't fixed. I have read the previous poor reviews and I can see other people have not had positive experiences either and as well Cathy always has an excuse. Cathy it is time to stop with the excuses and bs.

For well over a decade maybe two, this organization has been gathering money for a new building. The building fund has been as high as $60K, and last I could find numbers on their website was down to $20 Now they have outdated information, from 2009. There's no accountability or financial reports done for the public to see. They lost their ability to act in animal cruelty cases. They have cats stacked in an old trailer and from what I've been told smells horrible. They do not return phone calls. They keep getting donations, yet never move forward. We have zero services for dogs in Norfolk County, as this place is totally focused on personal hoards of cats. We need a decent society that will actually move forward and act in the best interest of all animals.

UNBELIEVABLE. We dropped our 3 kittens off at Simcoe District Humane Society and were told they would personally drive them to get fixed in London. When we went to pick them up later that day, there was only 2... Turns out one of the kittens was given up for adoption in London!! We are now on our way to pick up OUR kitten. My question is, how does this big of a mishap happen?

If I could rate 0 stars I would. There is nothing animal friendly about this place, in agreement with other reviews, staff love to push you off the phone and make you someone else's problem". I inquired about my rat that sneezes constantly that I adopted through them and was told "rats do that" after the 14 day return policy my rats started sneezing blood and I found out she has respitory issues. OSPCA wouldn't cover the cost of her treatment and had to pay over $200 for anti biotic. Would not recommend this place to anyone
