My son has fenced with Ares for the last year and a half, progressing from total newbie to competing in the Alberta Winter Games. The coaches have been very helpful and encouraging, and the community is friendly. Fencing is a highlight of his week.

I wanted to try fencing for years. A little over 2 years ago I found ARES and signed up for a 6 week Intro course. I was hooked! It's surprisingly affordable, so I signed up for the rest of the season. Every member is welcoming and the club is well organized. Weekly épée fencing lessons are taught by very impressive coaches too.I'm considered a veteran in my 40's now but if I was younger I'd go into Pentathlon myself. I highly recommend this to parents wanting to give their children the well rounded benefits of participating in 5 sporting events.I also recommend fencing to all ages. It's not just about swinging swords, there are some skills involved, and it's a fun workout.

The Ares program has been a lot of fun. I've learned so much in a friendly environment. The coaches give a lot of attention to everyone in our group and are so passionate. It's been great to try new sports here with such positive people!

Ares is a true example of a sport club that has found the balance between serious sport training and nurturing and respect of growing athletes. My child's confidence, coordination and skill have skyrocketed since joining the club. The coaching and environment is so supportive, well organized and positive, and sets kids up for true success not only in their sport, but in life. We look forward every week to going to practice knowing that my daughter will be surrounded by people who care about her development and who are invested in helping her achieve her athletic goals. I love that all of the equipment is included and that the times are so convenient, in such a central location, too. The kids are happy when they are at practice, able to work at whatever level they are at in their development, and how much they love being a part of Ares is so evident when you see their smiling faces each week.
