Ideal Plumbing & Heating

Rheem sent these guys to service my brand new water heater still under warranty. The service technician came over and found some issues with the installation and called Enbridge gas to complain. Enbridge came over, explained the issues, and gave me a red tag. I've fixed all the issues listed in the red tag notice by the end of the day.Called Ideal Plumbing first thing next morning to request to come back and finish the service call, but was told I was added to their Do not service ever" list

Called Ideal Plumbing to detect source of plumbing leak coming from basement ceiling. They were able to send someone that day which was great. I was told it would be $99 + HST for service call to detect leak & we would then be provided with quote for repairs.Two men came to the house. They were on time. I showed them where the water was dripping downstairs. They did not remove ceiling tile to see where water was coming from. Rather, we went to main floor bathroom which is situated above leak location. They noticed that bottom of toilet tank was dripping & said the gasket between tank & toilet needed replacing.The plumbers informed me they had to place special order for the gasket as they do not stock this particular one. It took them a few minutes to figure out the part number & could not tell me how much part would be. One said it could be as much as $79. or more. As well they could not guarantee that part would come in due to delay in shipping that everyone experiencing currently. They would return to install it when part recd & therewould be a repair fee + cost of part & HST.Because of the possible delay in obtaining the part & because they couldn't tell us the price of the part, we decided it might be better to buy a new toilet & have them install it.They informed us the fee would be $204 + HST to install a new toilet. We would go out & purchase one & bring it home.They called their office & scheduled an appt to return Wed of the following week, their first availability.I went to Home Hardware, whom I've dealt with for over 30 yrs, to purchase a new toilet. I mentioned what plumber had told me about a special order for gasket that current toilet needed. Owner of Home Hardware asked me to go home & take a picture of toilet & tank & bring it to him, which I did as only 5 min. drive from our place. He said the gasket it needed was regular stock item & didn't understand why Ideal would tell me it was a special order. So I bought a Moen gasket from for $6.79 + HST . We installed it ourselves. The small leak from the tank stopped however the leak from the ceiling below continued. I was desperate to have leak properly detected & fixed as soon as possible so I called a friend of a friend a couple days later. He removed ceiling tile & determined the leak was still coming from the toilet but it was coming from the wax seal under the toilet.I called Ideal & canceled the appointment & informed them about gasket misinformation I had been given.Friend installed new seal & bolts & all was good. The gasket, wax seals, bolts & new flex hose for water supply cost me less than $30. & a $60 fee was paid to friend for labor.Had Ideal's plumbers removed the ceiling tile when they first came out to detect leak source & had they known that the gasket needed was regular stock, the repair could have possibly been done during their first visit.We saved ourselves $144 in labor fees & the price of a new toilet (another $300 + ) all thanks to advice from Home Hardware handyman & the help of an honest friend.This was our first experience with Ideal & it will be our last.

Friendly and professional.

I spoke to a few employees and the front desk female. All were very rude and unprofessional. In this day and age customer service goes a long way.Re to response. I ask the men blocking the whole driveway to move them called and asked the female to have them move as it is a one way driveway bit I got attitude and questioned as to where I was visiting. None of her business. I never wait anything out of order or used profanity so not only are they rude but they lie. Horrible com
