Dogtopia of Halifax

My 6-month old puppy was not comfortable around other dogs. We brought him to Dogtopia to help him with socialization. During the first couple of hours, he just stayed in a corner and refused to mingle. The coaches in Dogtopia took the time to help him come out of his shell. By the end of the day, my puppy was a completely different dog as he happily mingled with the other puppies. Highly recommend Dogtopia!

We were traveling the Canadian Maritimes for a few weeks and had our pup with us. We knew we wanted to explore Halifax and thought our little girl would love a puppy play day. I reached out to this wonderful company and they agreed and we met and she loved it so much that she didn’t want to leave when we came to get her. Next time we are in Halifax with her we will definitely book her a play date!! Wish we had one close to us!! Thank you to all the staff who helped us and made her day so wonderful!!!

There was a time when I would have given Dogtopia rave reviews. Since management has changed, I have lost total faith in them.An “incident” occurred last week while my dog was in their care. I was not contacted promptly, as a matter of fact when I picked my dog up, I was told he had a great day. I was encouraged to buy passes and bring him back soon.It wasn’t until hours later that I received an EMAIL telling me differently.The manager told me the incident happened right before pick up in the afternoon. The owner told me the incident happened in the morning. I was also told that the staff in the play room didn’t “flag” the incident, so they didn’t know it happened. My phone didn’t ring once.After two phone calls with the owner the next day, the conclusion was that they “dropped the ball” in terms of communication.Later that evening, I received another email from the owner stating that the family of the other dog would “welcome reimbursement” for their vet bill. This is a business that has insurance for this type of situation. Considering how badly the ball was dropped, why should this even be suggested?When the former manager was there, I knew what my dog was doing, I knew he was safe, and I knew if anything happened, my phone would ring.I will never trust Dogtopia with the care of my dog again.

We had the best experience for a nail clip with the groomers on site! I'm so impressed with how our girl was treated - she's usually a tough cookie for this - but you'd never know based on how happy she was getting treats at the end!

I love the webcams! Our dog is very anxious, and we worry sometimes when we need to leave her. The livestream lets us make sure she's doing okay. The dogs all get attention when they want it, and even my old dog who doesn't play has fun. I would highly recommend Dogtopia, no matter what kind of dog you have.

I stopped in here to get some information of their services and WOW was I ever impressed. The manager was extremely knowledgeable on dogs and explained their meet & greet policy, grooming services, daycare costs, etc. She showed me around the front area as well as the webcams with all the rooms with different dog sizes and temperaments. I brought my dog back a few days later for a nail trim and they exceeded my expectations once again. Looking forward to taking my dog back for another spa treatment!

My puppy was a bit cheeky, and I was worried if he would fit into the daycare. Dogtopia staff have been very encouraging, understanding and accommodating. My dog's behaviour is so much better. He has made friends there and always is happy to go there.

The team at Dogtopia Halifax is super caring and safety for my tiny Chihuahua was paramount. They even took the time to take a video of her playing with a new friend to show me her socialization progress. It was a very good experience. The facilities are super clean and professional.

We came into Halifax and needed a place for our dog for the day. Dogtopia was super easy to make arrangements with. With all of our travelling and being out of normal routine, his nerves (and maybe being a huge mamas boy) got the best of him and he did not pass the meet and great exam. Despite such, staff were welcoming and accommodating, clearly seeing that he was quite nervous, and offered a few other options for him to spend his day at Dogtopia. When picking him up, staff were able to tell me about his interactions during the day and they seemed to be happy to spend their day with him despite it being out of the normal daycare setting. If we lived in Halifax, I would certainly look to take my dog to Dogtopia more regularly, not only to get him used to the daycare setting but also because I could see staff were caring and patient with him, both of which are huge to any pet owner.
