About the Business
Beaver Boardwalk | Hinton, AB - Official Website | West Fraser Mills Ltd. sponsored the construction in 2006 of this Beaver Boardwalk to commemorate the 50th anniversary of West Fraser's Hinton operation and the Town of Hinton. In 1955, the construction of the Hinton pulp mill began, with completion of the facility taking place the following year. As well, in 1956 the Town of Hinton was incorporated, amalgamating with Drinnan in 1957, which makes up the valley area of present day Hinton. The construction of the Beaver Boardwalk was largely completed by the hard work of dedicated volunteers. Two standout volunteers were Rick Bonar and Rocky Morin who are each recognized with commemorative plaques in the Beaver Boardwalk observation towers. Interpretive signs were updated in 2017, as a joint project of the Town of Hinton and West Fraser Mills Ltd. This project was supported through a grant provided by the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta.

Beaver Boardwalk
We went to beaver boardwalk on March 19. It was a nice walk. Some of the bridges were out of order that needed to be fixed but it has a lots of beautiful trails and a nice walk with kids and pets.

Beaver Boardwalk
I absolutely love this place and I consider it as one of the gems of the beautiful town of Hinton. Yes, there might be a few boardwalks that are missing or under construction but it still offers me the same experience but with less option. The boadwalk allows you to see spectacles of nature such as its lush vegetation, and the variety of birds and animals that call it their home. What I consider as the significance of this boardwalk is its location, the area is bordered by neighbourhoods. This signifies that when people walk from their houses into the boardwalk, it is representing the individual's transition from the busy human world into the world of nature and tranquility. Love this place :)

Beaver Boardwalk
Very nice boardwalk area. Looks to have had some recent fixes to some spots. There were some areas that we couldn't go due to a flooding event. There were lots of different birds around the area. We even got to witness a rufous humming bird sitting way up on the tips of the dead conifers.

Beaver Boardwalk
We had an RV so found off street parking at approx 440 Collinge road about 200mtrs away from start of walk, there is parking right at the entrance also with a toilet there. Wheelchair accessible track mostly. We visited twice and saw beavers there after 6pm, they put on a great show. Plenty of bird life around as well which was fantastic. We spent hours here taking it all in. You could rush around the walkways in less than an hour if you wanted to. Friendly locals who are happy to share their knowledge and eperiences with you. One of our favourite places during our 3 week stay in Canada

Beaver Boardwalk
Great outdoor walking trail. There were several areas not yet complete or under construction. Once complete I'd love to come back and visit this place again.

Beaver Boardwalk
Beautiful little walk. A bit steep and icy at some points, but with care and attention you should be fine. Some areas are blocked off for construction but you can make your way through some trails.
