Finway Concept

Tomek of Finway Concept did a superb job renovating our condo. We basically ripped everything out right to the concrete, redoing floors, removing the old stucco ceiling, redoing the bathroom entirely, and repainting, in addition to many small tasks. Tomek served as general contractor for the job, doing much of it himself and overseeing specialty trades for some parts of it (plumbers, electricians, etc...). Overall he did an excellent job managing the whole project, keeping things on time and on budget, and delivering a beautifully completed apartment. Thank you Tomek!

Tom is the most amazing contractor, carpenter and fence developer in the city. He is on time, hard working, design forward and all around a great person. On top of that, his team is amazing - super respectful and professional.I have hired Tom twice now, and both times totally perfect and would have no hesitation to hire him again and again.Further to that, and very importantly considering other contractors… The project remained on time and on budget. 10 stars, if possible.

I hired Finway Concept to renovate one of our bedrooms. Tomek did the floor and trim work. Tomek is one of the best contractors in the city hands down! Very professional! Very respectful. His work is very clean and outstanding! I have already booked him for more work around my house as well I have recommended him to many of my friends and family. When you hire Tomek you have no stress and he gets the job done on time and in ur budget! 100% recommend!

Hello gentle reader,This is my account of my experience with Finway Concept, and why I think you should NOT hire them.On the 28th of July, 2021 my next door neighbour informed me that they would be installing a new fence along our shared property line in the backyard during the following week.On the 4th of August, 2021 a representative (an eastern european male with sandy blonde hair and accent: Gent #1) arrived to do a preliminary check. At this moment, I politely asked this gentleman to please watch out for my flower bed when performing the installation.On the 5th of August, 2021 of August another representative (male pacific islander) arrived to dismantle the old chain-link fence. I took the time to also politely ask this gentleman to kindly watch out for my flower bed, and showed him the area, which was clearly marked out with heavy stones, not to mention the profusion of flowers growing.On the 6th of August, 2021 I arrived home after work to find the fence near completion and my flower bed completely destroyed. Incredibly angry, I accosted both of these persons who were the only ones working on the fence, and whom I had spoken to before. I was yelling. I was not, however rude, and at no time did I swear at or verbally abuse them. Gent #1 was defensive and indicated that when I agreed to the fence installation I was made aware that this was a possibility. I explained that at no time did I agree to this installation, or was told this would or could happen. Further, I rent this property, and did not have any authority to approve major infrastructure work. It was also moot because I asked both of the workers to take care with my flower bed, and they did not provide me with any warning that it was at risk when I made my requests.Gent #1 offered to replace my plants at this point. As I was incredibly angry, I left and wrote a note about this to my neighbour, clearly delineating the damage and my expectation of living, in-season replacements, namely:-3 groupings of Tiger Lilies-8 Gladioli (4 Yellow and 4 Red)-3 Crocusoma Lucifera-2 Eucominis AutumnalisThere were also Liatris Spicata, and Cedar Mulch that were not included on my request.The neighbour reported back to me that Finway Concept that they said they would *not* replace my plants.Subsequent to this, it was noted that during the course of the build, these builders had left a large gap at the house end of the fence that led directly under the neighbour’s deck, where there have been skunk and rodent problems in recent years. More importantly that this gap was on my side of the fence and might have resulted in said animals travelling through my yard, and potentially causing further plant damage or feces in my yard. Further, they dug up and failed to properly dig back in a substantial power cable that leads from my house to the garage, some 25+ feet in length. As a result my property manager required the neighbours to complete and repair these at extra time and cost to them.I suffer from anxiety that requires treatment, and a range of important self-care activities, and gardening is a vital to this. This flower bed was new this year, I invested substantial time, energy, and money into its development. As a result of its destruction, I have suffered nightmares and poor sleep since, and have made the decision to start medication to help cope. I’m not mentioning this for sympathy, but to say that the actions of this company made me feel unsafe in my own home, and were - in my view - an unprovoked assault.Finway Concept is a company that does not do a full or complete job. They will leave you with problems with the work they do, and also with your neighbours. They will say whatever they need to to get your work or placate you, but will not and can not be relied upon to behave ethically or honourably.I would not do business with Finway Concept under any circumstance. You should not, either.
