I give a one star. That goes to the few staff that provide compassionate care without bias to your situation.Too many negative, neglectful situations over the years to share. One I will. 65 yr old dad in Palliative Care. Esophageal cancer. I helped him to the bathroom. Watched over him. Dad became very weak and I cradled him under his arms and pulled the bathroom bell. After 15 minutes, after I seated him back onto the toilet, I was able to walk him back to his bed. I went to the nurses station. Only to find 5 of them laughing. I asked, did you not hear the bell!?" " I want to see your charge nurse".Spoke to charge nurse. She wasn't impressed with her staff.Dad died 2 days later. Too busy my a@@. Time to laugh n chat

Terrible hospital that is filthy and runs out of linens. Burned out lights, dead flies on window sills, misdiagnosis. Will wake you up hours earlier than supposed to after a surgery because the nurses can't or won't read charts and get patients mixed up. This is unbelievable but 100% factual.Nurses up on care floors seem to be great. But I would die on the way to North bays hospital before stepping foot into that ER. Most nurses in the ER are rude and even downright cruel. Shouldn't be allowed near any human let alone the sick and vulnerable And the doctors are beyond arrogant and don't actually want to help. They seem bothered by any and all patients. To the point where the first question out of a family physician after their patient has spent time in the hospital is and how did they treat you?" Quickly followed by "I'm so sorry you were treated like that. That's wrong."No aftercare ordered let alone any actual care provided while there. This hospital is an absolute disgrace."

I did all I could not to have to go to emergency. But, when it's late and you can't even keep down water, it gets scary. We are so very thankful for the excellent care I received late Sunday night. The entire staff were so caring; and the doctor was incredible! Many thanks for all your kindness. And, yes doc - I am the FHO biller.

Less than zero stars. Who sends a patient home after a biopsy, where the patient is actively bleeding? When I was notified by the hospital staff, the patient was doing well and ready to go home". Really? No discharge instructions

Been admitted for mental health crisis’ multiple times and treated in the ER for physical pain.First off, if you come in during a mental health crisis, expect to wait 8+ hours. Also expect to not meet with a psychiatrist at all in the ER and have the ER doctors decide your fate. Also expect for the nurses to talk bad about you at the nurses station right in front you. If you go to Kirkwood, it’s not that bad. If you end up on 6 North run as fast as you can. Forced to take medications I didn’t want to, nurses don’t want to talk or help you they just want to medicate you and you’ll get about 3 minutes a day to talk to a psychiatrist. If you come to the ER for anything else, good luck. I’ve come with severe abdominal pain and waited in the waiting room for hours, to be brought back to another waiting room inside of of the ER, where they converted rooms into a secondary waiting room. Once you are in, you will not get a bed. You will be seen by a doctor for 30 seconds, and waiting with no answers or idea what’s going on for hours. Again, you can hear the nurses talking bad about you or the other patients. While waiting for the nurse to complete an order, good luck. You will be waiting for a long time when it comes to nurses as they’re always chit chatting away and making it everyone’s business because that’s all you can hear. Nobody in the ER will treat you seriously. The only good part about this hospital is the lab, CT/MRI/Ultrasound staff and Dr. Ansel in the ER.

It's never fun when you have to stay in the hospital, but the staff at HSN did their damnedest to ensure that my stay was as pleasant as possible. Unflappably professional nurses and PSWs somehow always had a smile on their face, were never condescending, and always did their best to keep me up to date and in good shape. The place itself...well, I'd have liked a room with a bathroom, but seriously the excellence of the staff made up for the lacking facilities. These people are absolute saints, and my hat is off to each and every one of them. Thank you HSN staff for shoring me up and getting me back in the game!

Security is awful. Wait times in ANY areas ESPECIALLY EMERG!! are outrageous!! The staff are usually snotty, and ill manered. I prefer to drive to hospitals outside the Sudbury area now.

I had asked security to open the Medicine Lodge for me. And he just completely ignored me. I stood outside his office for 5 minutes waiting. He didn't even tell me another guard was going to open it. Always..when it comes to First Nations People..some are so discriminative. That just bothers me..

Have a concussion, was given the all clear at the hospital.Went to a walk-in clinic after having a friend tell me that I have concussion symptoms, doctor there confirmed that I absolutely have a concussion. The staff ignored me, I understand that it is busy but many people who came after me were seen before me and I was in a lot of pain and I still am but at least I have a clear answer now.

By far, the absolute worst experience i’ve ever had in a hospital. I’ve been in small town hospitals, hospitals in Barrie, downtown Toronto. I’ve been everywhere, and I can say with utmost certainty, this facility needs major improvements. The emergency department is filthy, things are literally falling apart. They have poor signage indicating where to go, and the nurses were very condescending and rude to not just myself, but most of the other patients. Not to mention, they move you from room to room in groups of people, almost like a school field trip, and there is zero patient privacy in any part of the hospital. Consider your self worth and dignity gone when you walk through those doors.
