Fruiterie Vert Pomme

Great selection of fruit and veg, esp. fresh leafy greens. I never have things go bad from this store. The quality is trustworthy. (As an aside, I started storing arugula in a glass jar in the fridge and it stays fresh for weeks).They also sell older produce at a discount at the back of the store, perfect for soups or sauces or dehydrating.If you've discovered pomellos, this is the only place (besides Costco) that I've found Jaffa pomellos and sweeties" (small pomellos)

Fresh produce great prices, friendly staff

I have always loved this store. I shopped regularly for 4 years when I was living in Verdun, and everyday for the last 6 weeks while I have been visiting, as I love the fact that I can buy fresh lettuce with no packaging.The staff are lovely, the produce is good, but the manager should be a little more interested in maintaining good customer relations. Three times in the past 2 weeks I have received a 5 peso coin in my change, rather than a toonie. I knew in both cases the pesos came from the store, as it had been the only place I had shopped. The previous two times I ignored it, after all it was only a matter of 4 dollars. Today I left with a 5 dollar bill only, fully expecting it would cover my purchase of lettuce and cucumber from Vert Pomme, and my purchase of a baguette from the bakery. I made my purchase at Pomme Vert, walked 3 minutes down to the bakery, then when I went to pay there I found that my change I had received from Vert Pomme contained 2 different peso coins rather than the Toonie and one of the quarters I should have received. I returned immediately to the store to let them know. The staff were very gracious, spoke to the manager, but the manager told them I had no proof (and in fairness I didn't, given the store has no cameras). When I asked to speak to the manager to at least explain the sequence of events, s/he refused to talk to me. It isn't the point of the money, it is that the manger refused to even hear me out. It made me feel like they thought I was a thief trying to rip off their store. I did become upset, told them that this was bad business practice (to not even speak to me) and that I won't be shopping there again after over 4 years of being a loyal customer. For this reason, I am writing this negative review, in the hope that the manager might want to reflect on her approach to customer relations.

It's been my favourite fruiterie until today. Most employees are friendly and helpful. However I just witnessed an untrained young female cashier giving attitude to an aged customer due to the shop's own pricing errors. Unacceptable!:((

Service is as efficient as any local store of the same size can be.But the products are not fresh. Every time we buy fruits there it bruises after one day. And sometimes pre-packaged fruits and vegetables would have bruises or had already gone bad - these are regular priced product.They do have decent selection of fruits and vegetable - however not much if compared with a market.We are now avoiding this store unless we need last minute things that we'd be consuming right away.

The produce here tastes better and costs less than the fruits and vegetables from major supermarkets and grocery chains, plus most of it is package-free.

You walk in its pleasant. But, be very weary & cautious of any produce that you purchase from here. Whatever produce you're choosing looks 100% in perfect condition.And then when you bring it home & cut into your Apple, orange, Clementine etc. It's all rotten inside. I've returned many products back to them. That's why their prices are a bit lower. This is my own personal experience with this store...Good Luck!

Decided to come here for some fruit and veg for a change. The shop is small but everything is there and easy to find. The aisles are as wide as they can be but it takes some patience to get around. Anyway, i found everything i needed including some local honey.

Great place for fruit and veg - selection always looks fresh and I love that most things are not in plastic. Prices are good, sometimes they are better than the supermarket as well!!

They have very fresh bean sprouts and a variety of mushrooms. And you can buy a variety of vegetable by weight (no plastic, using paper bags). This is my go to place to buy fresh vegetable and fruits.
