Terrible experience twice. This last time has been the tipping point. Wanted to get a new set of regular and safety glasses. Was told my prescription was expired after a year which is silly. So had to pay for an eye exam to find out my prescription hadn't changed. When I set up the appointment I also asked to do the contact introduction. They had my eye measurements on file from a previous visit. They failed to order the contacts and told me I had to come back in for that adding another day I have to take off work since they are not open on the weekends. My regular glasses came in as promised but my safety glasses did not. They tried to get me to come in just for the one pair, again requesting me to take more time than needed. I chose to wait until the safety glasses came in. They came in about 3 weeks later than I was told. When I picked them up everything seemed fine. After wearing them today I found out they are not transition lenses despite me requesting them. I apparently didn't pay for that but I'm positive I have. After calling them to tell them that they told me they can't do transition safety glasses due to health and safety issues. That is a blatant lie due to the fact my last two pairs from them have been safety glasses with transition lenses. At this point I have to wait until Friday (it's Tuesday) to talk to the person who took my order. So they are currently doing nothing to fix this situation.This company has taken a devastating dive downwards since being bought out by fyi doctors. I've been going here since I was a little boy (currently in my 30s) with no issues. Not the case anymore. Besides the lack of care for their clients they often don't pick up the phone, ask you not to leave a message on their machine and often don't leave a message on your voice-mail when they call. I've been sitting in the waiting area waiting for an appointment while three people were behind the desk letting the phone ring until it went to their voice-mail. I also heard one of them say we are closing in 10 minutes, they should call earlier. This place will do nothing to help you. They just lie to help themselves. I would give this 0 stars but you can't. Do yourself a favor and never go there.

I've been going here for over 5 years and recently, I haven't been able to make an appointment for a simple check-up. I've called several times on different days and it always goes to voicemail. I don't understand how a team of receptionists can't manage to answer the phone. Do your job. Called another clinic and got an appointment set up instantly.

Watch out- only one optometric doctor on staff now. Appointments that are set up are suddenly cancelled, and the new ones are offered many months later. Too bad- have gone here for years but the ownership change has severely deteriorated this service. Do not recommend this optometrist.

I had been using this office for 26 years and just in the past few years have noticed that the front desk staff is incredibly rude and very indifferent, they really don't seem to care about people or be willing to offer any suggestions to help you. I had decided to switch to a different optometrist due to cost and availability, and when I called to ask for my prescription (asked for by my new optometrist) they informed me they could not give me that information over the phone. When I went in to get that information I was informed that they could have emailed it to me. It would have been nice to have been told that over the phone instead of wasting my time and money to go get it.

I received the utmost in professional care from Dr. Finlayson who prescribed my corrective lenses and was so helpful explaining why they would be my best option for reading. Anke was invaluable in her determination to find the right frames for me and was exacting in fitting them to her high standards. Thank you everyone at FYI doctors!

We have been going to this optometrist for at least 20 years. It used to be a great office. Then FYI took over and it all went to pot! My husband had an appointment for his eyes, when he went in they said that it was too soon. So they suggested he have the appointment which he would have to pay for. Then come back in again in a month. This time it would be covered. Why would they make the appointment if it was too soon, and give us a reminder call. I called around to a couple of other eye doctors and they all said he was due now. We switched immediately to a new doctor. Talk about double dipping!! Get paid by the person (over 65) and then get the government to pay.

I enjoyed Dr. Psutka’s office for over 25 years, then FYI doctors bought the clinic. They constantly change their staff and once again we are loosing more of the doctors in that office.Disappointing.

I loved this optometry practice in the past. I was a patient for 20 years. I liked the doctors and the staff seemed happy. I was happy with the service.I noticed a change in recent years. The staff became rude and short. When Dr. Fenn left the first time, the receptionist told me he had left the province. It turns out he was at Old North Optometry the whole time. I saw Dr. McLeod instead and then by my next visit Dr. Fenn was back.This time when I called to book an appointment I was told the same story, he moved out of province and they don't know where. I don't like being lied to. It seems unnecessary.I decided to find a new optometrist. There has always been at least a 20-30 minute wait for your appointment here. I overlooked that because I was happy with the service. Now it's no longer worth it for me. The staff don't seem happy.

I’ve been a patient of this optometrist practice my entire life. I hadn’t had an eye appointment in 4 years, and was hesitant to return since my lifelong optometrist (Dr Forrestal) had retired, and all of the negative reviews I’ve seen pop up on Google since they became “FYI Doctors” …however, I decided to give it a shot. I’m glad I ignored the negative reviews because other than the name (and some expected Covid measures) nothing has changed.I had a great experience at my latest appointment. From start to finish it was extremely pleasant. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the new optometrist was professional and knowledgeable.Picking out my glasses was a great experience. Tenille was friendly and helpful. She helped me pick out a pair of glasses that I am super happy with.
