Flo EV Charging Station DCFC

A reliable and inexpensive L3 charger. It is currently software restricted to a maximum of 37KW/hr, but at the current rate of $1.50/hr, I'm good with that trade off.

New update : March 2019, it seems the DCFC is now free !!Little update : As of February 2018, the cost for the DCFC is $10/hour so if you recharge your car during 30 minutes (which usually is the average for current EV cars), it costs 5$ but you would be good for 150 km. The 240v stations are $1/hour. A DCFC is for quick charge (for quick visitors like me when I came from Ottawa). The 240v stations are aimed for visitors (or employees) that would stay longuer (1-3 hours). The FLO circuit is subscription free, you can only use the app to start the station and it's a real 50kW so really fast and cheap for the power.The Flo charging station is a DC fast charger (L3) and has a Chademo (Leaf, Soul EV) port and a CCS combo port (eGolf, Ioniq, BMW i3, Bolt). There's a 240v charging station (L2) with the J1772 port (for all electric cars except Tesla). In fact, only the Teslas need an adapter in order to charge on this station.

I visit the Markham Civic Center roughly 6-8 times a year. As of the last year and a half there is always a BLACK MODEL 3 plugged into the 240V public charger when I arrive. It is a public charger not an EMPLOYEE charger. I talked to security but this individual still parks and charges for a minimum of 4 hours. It is time to shame this kind of practice.

There is only one fast charger. It was raining and for a while the charger did not read the card.

Wellington County chargers work with a ChargePoint OR credit card. Every one should work with a credit card and have a green flag in the air so you can find it. It's a real downer when low on range, in the dead of night, you finally find a charging station, only to find that your growing collection of cards does not include one for FLO, or My EV, or the myriad of new ones popping up

Convenient. Wish there were more… luckily I didn’t have to wait too long for the fast charger.

The DC charger might be old. The Start" and "End" buttons are not very responsive. I had to push them really hard to start and end charging."

all free EV chargers should have a time limit and use a card to activate. If you stay more than X hours, there should be a charge. This practice ensures fair and responsible access to larger public.

Very slow charging speeds.. Although labelled as L3, it was charging at level 2 speeds.

the comment Ian wrote below is not true. new max is ~12kW. I dont know what Markham Civic is thinking.. Are they trying to promote charge station hoggers?? the slower it is, the longer ppl will leave their car there.I don't mind paying more, but slowing the charger down is just silly.
