We had an excellent stay with an amazing view. The bedding was comfortable and the room was clean. We stayed in the sunset room. It was nice to be down on the end and relax. Loved the common area. Everything was clean and neat.Hopefully we will be back again! Lubec is a beautiful town away from all heavily traveled areas to the south. This is definitely worth the visit.

This place was Wow! The room we had Cliff side had beautiful views of the wharf & Islands. Restaurant had a great menu with live whole Lobster. They had their own whale watching boat…but, unfortunately our excursion was cancelled due to mechanical problems, but maybe next time!

I will start by saying the room was pretty clean. That is always my #1 priority with a hotel/inn/b&b/etc. and they get most of their positives from me there. After that, I had to go back to the office after the first key they gave me didn't work in the door at all. It was open, but we wanted to leave things in the room and explore the area (not to mention sleep in peace) so I sort of expected a working door lock. The second key sort of worked. I had to wiggle it for about 30 seconds to a couple minutes each time I wanted to use it as it wouldn't engage the lock. It seems the keys they have don't really match the door lock well. The door lock needs to be fixed. It is unclear on the website, but the room that I ended up getting was a room underneath someone's house/apartment. There are three houses (that look identical) that appear to have full-time residents upstairs and two little rental rooms in the back/downstairs that share a porch. I think there are more rooms/suites that are located at/near the restaurant, but mine was in a set of houses a very short walk down the road from the restaurant (no problem here, just an FYI).As for the room itself, that's where I had to knock off some points (even door problem aside). There's no AC, so you really need to crack a window in warm weather to keep the room cool. This may be a low-crime area (I didn't look into it), but it doesn't feel super comfortable having to open the sliding glass door (which is the only way into the room) and just leave a screen door closed which anybody could come into in the night (it didn't have a functional lock, not that a lock on a screen door is worth anything) or even leave a ground-level window open in a town you're not familiar with. The bed was not comfortable. It was hard, and slanted in various places, so either side wanted to roll off. The pillows squished to nothing. The decorative pillows were stained. Doors all looked like they were bought from a seconds' store (misaligned panels, etc.). It basically felt like everything was set up as cheaply as humanly possible so that they could rent more rooms at 4-star hotel prices because there's a view of the bay. The walls had zero sound-dampening happening. I could hear the people in the next room talking then snoring and the person upstairs moving around regularly. Also, these are not Ocean view. They look out at Johnson Bay and a bunch of little boats (sailing boats, fishing boats, etc.) moored when not in use. It's still a very nice view, but most of the room names are deck to sea or ocean view or similar and a quick look at the map here (especially the satellite view) will tell you which direction the rooms/buildings face. Again, just an FYI as I enjoyed the view (even though it was very foggy the day we stayed). The shower had some big bottles of store-bought TRESemme shampoo and conditioner just loose, which feels more like showering at a family member or friend's house than an inn. Most places have gone to refillable wall-mounted pump setups these days, which I agree with much more than individual little bottles that add plastic waste, so I'm not opposed, but the implementation here was just something I haven't seen before. There was a TV in the room, but no cable. It was a Vizio with a smart-tv app suite (and an internet connection) that had some free programming that allowed you to watch some old shows or movies they had. You could log into Netflix, but there were already 4 children's accounts logged in so I didn't mess with that. We were only here for one night and I didn't come to watch TV, so I wasn't upset about this, but watched an old movie to help settle down for sleeping and figured I'd share what the room offered for that experience. I also would have felt bad about it being loud the way sound travels in these rooms.Overall it wasn't an awful place to spend one night, but I didn't get a great night's sleep due to the bed, the noise, and keeping my temperature regulated. I wouldn't look to stay here again.

Very disappointed! Expected private deck based on website but it was shared. No TV. The room at first glance was fine but once we got in and started to settle discovered it was very dirty! The bottoms of the white curtains were black and molding ring around the bathtub clear shower curtain had a lot of soap scum the light switch area in the bathroom was dirty with coffee stains or some thing dripping down the wall the coffee cups in the room have been used but not washed the deck chairs were comfortable but ripped and had to be washed to be able to use the cupholder in tray. The bathroom door had a great deal of built up stuck to it dusty grime as well as hairs stuck to the door. The only entry was through the sliding door on the deck which was shared i and the screen would not close tightly which in itself is not a huge deal except there was no air conditioning so without the doors open there was almost no air flow … privacy was non-existent. We could hear our neighbors snoring and use the bathroom! When I spoke to the owner he took a housekeeping staff person down and then came back to tell us that he felt the room was well within the parameters of clean. Needless to say I was shocked! He said “if this were A Martha Stewart cleaning crew then yes it would not be acceptable “… He was not willing to provide any discount or offer any compensation. We have stayed there previously and been pleased however I doubt we will return based on this experience.

We had a great one night stay at this gem. The lady who answers the phone and works the desk is super friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant was conveniently open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner featuring delicious food and fast service. Our room was large and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay plus a beautiful shared balcony overlooking the ocean. The only negative thing I can say about this beautiful place is that housekeeping needs to pay a little more attention to small details. The room was certainly clean enough but the coffee maker was clogged with grounds from previous visitors and the extra blanket that was stored in the closet had not been washed between guests. (as evidenced by the hair left behind). So needless to say I was a bit chilly, but will absolutely stay here the next time I need a place to stay in Lubec!

Rooms are very quiet at this time of year. But they closed down restaurant early for the end of season without putting it on the website.Rooms are nice and good size. They took two twins mattress and put together for king bed.Would love to come back during in season.Note: Whole town is closed down. And you will have to hope a gas station is open for food or the little grocery store. Or go into Canada for food.

The room was quiet and had a great view. Make sure you sit out there for the sunset! Lubec as a whole is a great place to visit if you’re looking a for a walkable place that doesn’t have all the hustle and bustle of bigger cities. Plus it’s a short trip over to Campobello Island if you want to visit Canada!
