Union Station
Main station for Winnipeg. Good disabled access with ramps, escalators and automatic doors. VIA Rail trains to Toronto and Vancouver stop here.

Beautiful and stunning historic Union station! It was an amazing experience and could probably be even better if they reopened the museum, and also they should offer more frequent trains as I had to wait 3 days for the next train. The history here is definitely worth checking out.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating but they really have no idea when trains are due to arrive/leave. It's a consequence of how the trains run, I get it, but the updates they send you via email are always inaccurate. I received an email the morning of my departure saying my train would be leaving an hour early, and then it ended up leaving 6 hours late. Really annoying if someone is waiting to pick you up. Same situation on my return trip too. They also only accept cards with raised numbers for some reason. My visa couldn't be accepted because its a custom card with printed numbers.

My train was running so far behind I lost my 4 hour buffer between arriving by VIA RAIL at Winnipeg Union Station and my flight home from the airport. I thought I was going to miss my flight. I was in tears! So many staff members did absolutely the most creative thinking and research and planning to make sure I would get to the airport on time!!! From the gentleman who helped me onto the train in Gilbert Plains that sat with me and brainstormed, to the truly fantastic Service Manager, right on up the the Engineers - although there are so many others on board they did whatever it took to get me on my way. LOVE LOVE LOVE them all!!!!

Nice clean spot. A museum is attached to this as well. I enjoyed the history plaques along the side to show what it used to look like. Smaller than the Toronto one but it is still beautiful
