Easily the best optometrist in durham region . I was sent to see Dr. Brooks by my family doctor ( i had seen other optometrists in the past ) Dr. Brooks was incredibly thorough and took time to sit and explain everything to me and answer all of my questions. She is obviously an incredbly intelligent woman who genuinly cares for her patients .she is NOT simply trying to sell glasses to people who dont need them like walmart, Costco, Hakim or Dr. Black ( simcoe st. Oshawa ) Dr. Brooks doesnt even have a single pair of glasses for sale in her office.I will NEVER see any other optometrist as long as Dr. Brooks is in business

This review is regarding my husband. He went for an appointment with this Dr. his prescription was completely different from his previous one. The place where we got his glasses and contacts even commented how much of a change this is. He had some health problems which were the reason he had to get his eyes tested. After spending over $500 on new glasses and a 6 month supply for contacts and realizing this prescription was completely wrong. We are not happy!!! For months he tried to get use to them with no luck. He finally paid again to get his eyes re-done and sure enough his eyes were pretty much where they were before this Dr. gave him this new one that was completely off. This is not OK. Especially when we are now having to pay to renew everything. All of this is out of pocket. His eye site has never been better. We are out hundreds from a professionals mistake! SMH

Very professional. I’ve been going to Dr.Janet Brooks for years and only trust her with my eyes as she has the knowledge and all the right equipment, I feel safe and that I am in good hands when I go to her. Highly recommended located in Oshawa.

Great optometrist, have been seeing her for years! She is not very talkative chairside though, which I've seen in some other reviews that some people may find off-putting. However, she is very focused and great at her job, and is actually very patient if you need things remeasured.Additionally, her receptionist/assistant is lovely!!Definitely recommend!
