Irving House
This is a well kept museum/preserved home of British and Scottish background; we found the staff very accommodating and friendly. The metro van area is relatively non historic compared to many other parts in the world so its fun to have this type of underrated visit about. You wont be spending a lot of time here due to size but its fun experience in how homes used to be and the classic way of living. A nice little gem right in new west.

It was close when we went there,but looking to the house that was build 1865 was still in good shape.We visit here as we would like to know historic history of the place.

Went in with a friend without any appointment on a Sunday afternoon. We were immediately greeted by Lynda who gave us a wonderful, in depth tour, and she was able to answer all of our questions. You’re awesome Lynda! The house was beautiful and full of many interesting artifacts.Entry and tours are by donation, recommended $2/person or $5/family. Cash only. This is a great place to kill 30-60 minutes on a weekend, and learn a little something new about our community’s history, for just a toonie!

Guide was well informed & engaging. Tour took about 45 minutes and for $5, it's worth seeing how things used to be done.

Must-go place, regardless you're local or tourist, The museum guide is every knowledgeable and nice & funny. After all, this little house bares a way magnificent story than you could imagine.

Me and my youngest daughter came a long way from surrey. We had 10 minutes left before the museum closed. The guy greeted me rudely by saying there was 5 minutes left and I'm not allowed to go in to view. To protect the house protection had nothing to do with us viewing it. He was rude and turned us away. I will never go back there again

A hidden gem in the historic city of new westminster.Scottish and British inspired architecture as well as interiors. Even if you are not much of a history enthusiast, you'd like this place. They give you a guided tour of the house. The staff is friendly and they guide you through the house very nicely. Sculptures and artifacts from the Victorian period are all over the house. Overall a nice experience.(Don't forget to keep some change for donation by choice, also when you are done with the tour ask them to tell some exciting ghost stories and incidents.)
