Days Inn by Wyndham Vancouver Downtown

Checking in was great and easy. Parking is 2 blocks down. $25 a night. Beware of going down Hastings st. I’ve never seen so many homeless as on this block. Other roads were fine. Hotel Needs a bit updating but still has some charm in lobby. Liked that it did include breakfast. Waffle machine was broken so it was either a pastry, cereal or bagel. Looking at other photos I would’ve asked for a room change because we got one that was outdated and looked like a prison. Worse part was the very gross bathroom with hair and holes in the towels. (Pictures attached) Elevator was a bit iffy. A group of us was stuck on a floor for a few minutes. Had to call each night because there was no hot water. None. Front desk offered to change rooms which wouldn’t fix the problem because it was the entire hotel with no hot water as we spoke with a bunch of other guests. The maintenance guy was not in either so they told me he’ll pass by tomorrow. Although we never saw him the problem was not fixed. Cold showers with two little kids and for the cost of this was very unacceptable. We were then told there was a broken piece they are waiting for so when the manager leaves for the day he shuts off the hot water since there’s no one to supervise it. Ridiculous. We’re here on vacation, to do things during the day and come back to the hotel later in the day shower, sleep etc. they should have advised us prior to our stay so we can make different arrangements. They brought us a kettle for hot water for our baby bottles. After our stay they did reach out with a partial refund but not enough for the miserable ordeal of having my family including 2 little ones shower with cold water during our entire stay on “vacation”. Please advise guest prior to the stay if it’s a known issue.

Given this building is 100 years old, I am overlooking a few things that could use some updating. What I absolutely cannot get past, nor understand, is paying $700 for 2 nights. There is NO REASON for it.Beds are comfortable, rooms are cool & comfortable, smell clean. Floors, tubs, tile were clean & well kept.We enjoyed that our room had a living room as well as the bedroom & bath. I didnt book or request these upgrades. Perhaps it's why the room was so pricey? I know the other rooms are much smaller.This hotel is so close to the cruise port, restaurants, and attractions.Due to cost paid, I wouldn't recommend it. All other experiences here, I would recommend and would stay again.

We were scheduled to do a cruise to Alaska and the Days Inn by Wyndham Vancouver Downtown was convenient and only a few blocks from the port. Days Inn staff were friendly and helpful and very well maintained. Would absolutely stay there again.

The hotel was nice, but older. I wasn't expecting such a small room, especially with all our cruise luggage. It served it purpose and we were able to walk to the cruise dock just about 2 blocks away.

Great location for going to cruises. Rooms and property clean. This is a old building. Has one elevator, which can hold only four people. On morning of our departure the one elevator was broken. No bell hops. Thus me and many others had move our luggage from our floor, down the stairs to the lobby. In my case from the seventh floor.

Older hotel perfectly positioned for Downtown/Canada Place access. Our room was great, but old windows allowed noise from the street. Maybe the rooms further away don't have that issue. All in all, great stay. Staff was amazing and meet our every need.

If I could give zero, I would. The hotel reeks the moment you walk in and that should have been a sign of how the rooms were going to be. Within two minutes of being in the room, two different bugs were crawling around in the bathroom and bedroom. The most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Please don’t waste your money like we did. $$250 a night should not go wasted sleeping with bed bugs

The hotel is in need of serious updates and repairs. The elevator 'reset' three times while we were in it and all power cycled and lights turned off. The front desk told us it was to be expected. The room felt like we were in a basement w darkly painted drab walls and super low watt lightbulbs. Our bathtub was also broken and we couldn't use the shower. The only saving grace was the location and breakfast was included... Yet they lacked basics like fruit. Will not return.

Great location. Host were accommodating with our luggage storage request. We stayed only one night and our flight was not until the next day early morning. We left our luggage when we checked out at 11am and came back to grab it around 12 midnight and head out to the airport right after. We were able to spend more time roaming around the city whilst waiting for our flight. Housekeepers were also nice, whenever we see one they always take their moment to greet us. The hotel is a little outdated but it is definitely a good option to consider when on a budget.
