Did not receive my blow out with cut, bad policy and bad haircut!An unfortunate series of events! So much for finding a forever stylist: I was a walk-in Saturday June12 because Keratin treatment was on sale. Jasmine quoted $250 which included $100 off. I decided to get a hair cut first and give her a try. I am sorry I did.The cut was..bad. no layers that I asked, no style- except to put hair wax and make ringlets with her fingers! Omg!! I didn't want that! I was gracious and said to Jasmine that she can fix it before my Keratin treatment on Monday June 14. Jasmine said she didn't like the style either and offered to wash it and start again. But I didn't have extra time. I was disappointed too, hoped it could be fixed next time around. My thick, long curly hair looked like a huge tent. No layers. Huge frizz from the drying gel and wax. I was embarrassed.Next day I called to ask her to fix my hair and give me a style, I canceled the $250 Keratin treatment for another day.Monday June 14 when I arrived she didn't know what i meant by layers and looked like she just started hair dressing school. I still gave her a chance by letting her fix the mistake and getting a new client in me because she didn't have many.But it was what she said that really got me upset: I asked to wet my hair before the cut and Jasmine said, they don't do that for ' fixes' but she shampooed anyway, didn't condition. As she was washing, she said my hair style is $30. Why? You didn't do it last time? Jasmine said she put product in my hair and used a diffuser for a few minutes and that was my style. BUT I DIDN'T ASK FOR THAT! And you didn't like it either, offering to wash it out and start again?! I was being duped!?And so I didn't say anything except, no thanks- I don't want a blow dry today. I was upset but said nothing except to call my husband to pick me up earlier.Jasmine continued...People try to get free blow dries

Savannah's been my hair guru since 2008. She's intuitively known which styles compliment me best and we always work together to freshen up my style or try something new. Everyone working at JOY are very friendly, courteous, respectful, and prompt. Their product displays are beautifully put together and the new renovated space complete with hanging plants gives a nice, spa like vibe. Great and convenient location with seabus, transit, and ample parking. Lots of shopping nearby too and places to eat so you can make your hair experience a full day event!

I’ve used multiple stylists and they are all wonderful!! Whatever your hair needs are this is the place to go!

I LOVE Joy Hair Studio! So good to be back after absence with pandemic. Safety protocols are adhered to -wonderful energy in the studio. Cannot rave enough about this studio, and Cam in particular! He is an amazing stylist and I am always thrilled with the time, attention and results he gives to my hair. Always feel truly pampered. Over the last year Cam has taken me on a balayage journey (first time dying my hair) and I have never received so many compliments. My husband is also a huge fan so know that men’s cuts and styling is of equal quality - in fact, he has him on a whole new styling routine as a man who has never really thought twice about his hair! Salon is a welcoming, inclusive environment. 10/10 , would absolutely recommend to anyone.

I have been seeing Savannah from Joy Hair studios for over 10 years and she is fantastic! It’s like we’ve grown up together and it’s so wonderful to see a friendly face that you completely trust with your style and look! Savannah has helped me try lots of different hair cuts and hair colours along the way, including donating 12 inches of healthy hair to locks of love charity that makes wigs for kids. She is amazing - highly HIGHLY recommend!Also, the studio is centrally located near Lonsdale Quay, it’s clean, it’s fun and it’s small so it’s easily approachable. Enjoy!

I have been going to Joy for so many years I cannot recall how long. The owners and staff are beyond amazing, I love going not just because they are amazing hairstylists but because I feel a sense of relaxation when I walk through the doors. My son from a young age always wants to come with me, it is that warm and welcoming and now that he is 23 he still asksto come !I encourage all visit Joy.

I have been a longtime client of Tara’s since 2008 when she went from a hairstylist at a different salon to a hairstylist and part owner of JOY Hair Studio.I go to JOY to get a haircut and hair colour. But I, also, get the keratin treatment as Tara transforms my hair from frizzy and unruly to smooth, shiny and healthy looking hair... which looks and feels amazing!She’s always a friendly and consummate professional when it comes to service and she pays meticulous attention to the needs of her clients and delivers nothing less. I love watching her grow her staff, her business and instill that type of culture in the salon that you’ll always get the best service from her or any one of the other stylists.

I love coming to Joy. The stylists are all so friendly and welcoming. Tara who usually does my hair is always attentive, listens to my needs, and is so professional and knowledgeable. Today I brought my little guy for a haircut with Jasmine. Jasmine took the time to find out exactly what he wanted his hair to look like. He came out with the cutest hairstyle and looking so sharp.
