Point Roberts - Boundary Bay Border Crossing

Some staff are disrespectful and have an unwelcoming attitude. I understand it's their job to be strict and mean to enforce laws, but I feel like they weren't very fair. Not the symbol of Canada that I know of. I've had mostly had good experiences here, but not recently; I was not treated like a human being, I faced rude and condescending treatment. I felt horrible, sad, and frustrated.Absolutely unacceptable.Unfortunately won't plan to come back to Point Roberts anytime soon, even though I like going there for gas, and the scenery of peninsula from the parks. Coming back up to Canada can become more a hassle than it should be.

Super quick and easy to do the flagpole for my IEC visa. Only one stupid rude officer inside. Rest of the people super nice. It took me less that 5 minutes.

Thank God and CanadaHildebrand is one of the best officers I have ever met. He helped us with brilliant knowledge and incredible kindness. God save and bless him.

I and my husband came here to do flagpole for my PGWP and SOPW. Everybody here are so friendly and helpful. Especially officer Zhang and officer Hiderbrand (sorry if I type you both name wrong) ,they are very professional. Thank you very much!

CBSA officers are nice. I have issue with the cashier. I declared my items to the officer and was asked to go in to pay taxes. The young asian lady that runs the cash register looked at my receipts and knowingly charges me on the final total after converting to Cdn dollars (should actually be on the subtotal) so I end up paying taxes on taxes I already paid. Didn't realize this till I got home because this was my first time picking up a parcel in Point Roberts (so wasn't familiar with how things are done). I hate be overcharged (its the principle) for anything and am so annoyed that I don't want the hassle of going down to Point Roberts again. The cashier needs to be properly trained and shouldn't be overcharging the customers. I'll probably try Shippsy instead (as suggested by another reviewer).

Rude border guards looking to make money off everyone. Two girls at the front desk are right next to each other dealing with my wife and I and they keep saying WHAT?!? because they’re speaking simultaneously next to each other. Lack of brain power at this branch

Went there a couple of days ago to get my visa activated. I was a bit nervous because of all the negative reviews on borders in general.But to be honest, I was in and out in 10 min. The officers are strict but incredibly nice, helpful and quick.I‘d say if you go there with an attitude then that’s what you get in return.

YMMV.If the CBSA officer is having a bad day, you probably will too. Don't try to smuggle (not declare) anything you bought or picked up at the parcel pickup places or post office.And when buying goods shipped to the USA and you're returning to Canada, you'd be foolish not to take into account the overall costs including duty and PST/GST. This is effectively CBSA's only source of revenue at this location.And guess what, taxes (if you're lucky enough not to have the duty waived) are charged on the FINAL amount, not subtotal. Even the shipping fees are taxed. Capiche?

Really helpful staff. I was flagpoling for the first time ever to activate a work visa and staff talked me through the process on both sides of the border. Recommend getting there as early as possible to avoid long waiting times. I arrived at 6:30 am and was seen at 10am
