Great Explorations

Great Explorations is excellent at considering all details when planning guided trips; to ensure the very best experience for their customers! We cycled through Slovenia into Italy and LOVED it. Our guide was absolutely the best, the bikes were in very good condition, the places we stayed were wonderful, and the scenery was breathtaking. We highly recommend!

i have done many cycle trips ( pre pandemic ) and I started with Great Explorations and did several trips with them that I loved. Since then I tried several other companies, TREK, EXPERIENCE PLUS, CYCLISMO. and all of these companies were good and had their own things that they were good at. But now that I have tried all of those I am back with Robin and Great Explorations. I find that the hotels are a little bit more intimate, the chosen restaurants are a bit off the beaten path, and their relationships with the locals are authentic and heartfelt. I would recommend them to any level of cyclist and food lover. I am glad I am returning to Great Explorations. I think there is a value there that I appreciate.

Just got back from a trip to Puglia with our family of 8 including our 8 month grandson. It was an amazing trip, very well organized and full of thoughtful details. This is our 4th trip with Great Explorations but our first one taking along our grown up family. Accommodation was fabulous and the guides, Robbin and Federica were so much fun to be with. I would highly recommend Great Explorations and looking forward to planning our next one!!!Thanks for making this trip such a memorable one!!!

We completed our 3rd and 4th trips with Great Explorations this summer. The first trip was to France with our family. What a great trip! The guides were excellent and knowledgeable; the bike rides well thought out and sometimes very challenging. We enjoyed every hotel and all the meals were delicious. The hotels are always unique and we looked forward to seeing what our next stop would bring. Our favorite lunch was a picnic lunch next to a stream. The guides had quite a spread with fresh figs, meat, cheese and wine. We were able to cool down in the stream, and continue our ride after lunch. These bike trips are our family's favorite trips. It's the whole package: great guides, wonderful hotels and fabulous food.Our second trip was a trip to Sweden and Denmark. We have never been to this part of the world before and enjoyed the scenery, friendly people and relaxing rides. It was just the two of us on this trip. Each hotel was unique and different; and the food, of course, delicious. We had one of the same guides, who was very knowledgeable about the area and we enjoyed all the trails and bike paths throughout the area. We didn't have a van on trip but it was no problem at all. We would definitely recommend Great Explorations. We have had four exceptional trips with them and look forward to more in the future.

We have had the opportunity to take several cycling trips in various countries with Great Explorations. The company does a wonderful job of arranging for guides who are knowledgeable and personable, and the trips are designed to provide the clients with wonderful cycling routes, unique ways to experience cultures and the country, amazing food, and beautiful places to stay. Some of my favorite traveling memories are from Great Explorations cycling trips, and I hope to add more cycling trips with them to the list in the years to come.

Travelled self-guided, felt safe and local contact always available via text to ensure we made it to each check point and ensure all transfers of luggage and private boats were on time ( they were!!) . EBike a plus, as Croatia was quite mountainous for me. I can’t wait to come back

trip to Portugal Alentejo May 14-May20Just got home after an extraordinary trip biking along the countryside from Castle to Monastery and moreTrip provided amazing bikes, great food, incredible support, historical tours, wine tasting, olive oil small factory tour!The guides were incredible and the country with the governments help has restored these amazing attractions with very little commercialism. Portugal is under the radar and a must see before it gets discovered. The staff and owner of Great Explorations and the guides are driven to provide excellent service and professionalism with offering great value added.This is a moderate rated bike trip so for those active and can bike its a must also can get an e-bike if necessary.

We just returned from an incredible journey in B.C. The folks at Great Explorations listened very carefully to our wants and crafted a great big, fabulous adventure! We love to hike, challenge ourselves physically, learn about the places we are visiting, stay in luxury accommodations and eat really well. GE delivered and then some. Our guides: Jason on Salt Spring and Dom in Tofino were superb. Knowledgeable, fun, relaxed, full of personality and so very accommodating. We hiked our “bottoms off”, which was exactly what we wanted. All that exercise of course led to scrumptious meals in wonderful restaurants and blissful nights sleep in superb and unique accommodations.We came to Great Explorations with a wish list and they fulfilled all of our requests and often exceeded our expectations. They created a tailor made, unique adventure just for us. We were supposed to be vacationing in Italy, but of course with the state of the world we decided to stick closer to home and explore Canada. Best decision ever.Areverderci Italy.

We've taken five bike tours, three of them with Great Explorations. Biking allows a view of a country not seen from a car window at 60 mph. We have done Turkey, Portugal and Morocco trips with Great Explorations and enjoyed them all. Our guide and driver for Morocco (Mohammed and Mohammed) were the best we have had on any tour. Mohammed the bike guide was an excellent biker (former racer), tour guide, mechanic and companion with a good sense of humor. He was also the most thoughtful and best guide we have had for handling all ability levels on the trip. His knowledge of the local roads, covering the width of Morocco was very helpful in picking the daily routes for riding and car transfers. As with all Great Exploration tours we have taken, the accommodations and food were very good.
