Starling Restaurant and Bar
This restaurant put together an excellent office party for us. Everything from planning to the event went smoothly and stress free. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect, we had a private space upstairs that was roomy and well decorated. The drinks & appetizers provided were exactly what we ordered and were all delicious. Staff all enjoyed their sit down meals as well, and dietary restrictions were safely followed. Overall it was a wonderful experience for our first Christmas Party after Covid. Big thank you to Rory for all of her hard work, planning, and patience with all my questions. Happy Holidays!

We were excited to try out the new seafood spot. Did not disappoint. Food was good and staff were accommodating. Interested in going back for brunch, jazz nights and comedy days.

Our server Sean was fantastic.The Dealer's Choice, bespoke cocktails were fantastic without breaking your wallet.Food was fresh and incredible!Between the two of us we had two cocktails each, shared an app and had two mains. It was a treat of a night out!

We came here on a Saturday for a late lunch/snack.We didn't have any reservations but they were able to get us in no problem.The place is very clean and modern looking with bird cages when you walk in. Our waiter was pretty nice and we felt like all the employees were helping each other out when it come to service or if we needed something.We didn't get to try anything big because we had another dinner to go to later on but we ordered a salad and the baked brie.The salad was nothing special, bland not enough dressing honestly but they were nice enough to give us more dressing but still the dressing was really bland itself.I could say that the brie was actually really nice and creamy, I mean you can't go wrong with that.Also something that I have to mentions!!! One of the best espresso martinis that I have had. You definitely need to order this drink when you come here.I would definitely come back here to try other food items on the menu.And we were told that there's also a rooftop patio upstairs and a hidden bar downstairs, which is very interesting to know.

Super cool bird themed decor and art. Server was a great mix of attentive and aloof, meaning we didn't feel bombarded. Food was great and drinks were unique! Accessible washroom is available on the first floor, but the doorway might be a bit difficult to pass through for those requiring the use of a chair, due to the angle. Vegetarian options are few, as many of the meat are obscure or fancy dishes. Certainly upscale for the market, but very good.

The rooftop view is amazing.It's my go to restaurant/bar to grab some beer with friends.You can enjoy 'happy hour' for drinks and even food if you go right time! Unfortunately, they don't offer happy hour for rooftop though. Only ground/ 2nd floor.I highly recommend 'Baked Brie' for sharing. It's SO yum. Their fries and beef tartare are also amazing!

We only had drinks they know what they are talking about but OMG I had a vodka martini dirty buty olives were old and it tasted disgusting. I was wondering what was wrong with my drink and then realized my olives were all soft and wrinkled... Can't believe I drank that. #frustratedI took pictures of my friend's drink not my martini.

The food was awful and the bill at the end was the topper. We shared a calamari plate which had balls of batter that I had mistaken for calamari and started gagging when I realized it wasn't calamari. The calamari was extremely salty and had too much seasoning.The drink I ordered was the White Cockatoo which was a very dirty drink, the colour was like swamp water. I couldn't drink it and ordered Pepsi instead.For our main we ordered steaks, I got the tenderloin with fries and hubby got the strip sirloin. Our fries were extremely salty (we couldn't finish them) and also way over seasoned. The sauce they give you for the steak was separated.In its entirety, the meal cost us almost $200 after a 10% tip and now the next day I have food poisoning.Our 10yr anniversary dinner ruined, cost us a fortune and now I had to miss work because I'm sick.

Located in the middle of Ottawa's Byward market, Starling (named after the bird) is a very pleasant resto with large windows that allow alot of light, a bird-friendly decor and a nice outdoor terrace (both roof top and sidewalk).They had a number of interesting cocktails offered but we were there for breakfast so did not get an opportunity to try them. For our meals, we chose 2 Egg Breakfast (a classic), Chicken & Waffles (very tasty), Shakshuka (very good), Buttermilk Pancakes (excellent...thick, puffy and tasty), Omelette (very good) and Chia Pudding (small serving but good).Service was very friendly and the ambiance is fun and light. There are two main rooms plus the upper floors...so noise was not an issue (at least at breakfast). Enjoy!
