Oh man this is a gem 9 hole par 3 DGC set in a multi-use forested park. Gravel tee boxes, highly visible red baskets (some set in elevated on boulders!) lots of tree trunks, lots of elevation changes, not much underbrush so easy to find discs. Gotta watch out for other park users like bmx’ers and dog walkers but that easy enough.

Beautiful space, but the disc golf course needs more professional signage, and better upkeep... the tee boxes were uniform in being absolutely terrible.

Nice disc golf course, although I wish the trees would stop jumping out in front of my discs

Tucked within a forested suburban neighborhood in Nelson is the Art Gibbon’s disc course. It’s a multi-use area with dog walkers and families. Both the local skate park and bike park share the periphery.(Note: the first of nine t-pads start next to the skate park. The course winds its way back to the skate park clockwise through the timber and stone hillside.)The course is challenging, requiring precision on the drive. You will hit trees and rocks on the way to the often hidden baskets. Fortunately, the drives are short, all less than 300ft. This means mid-range drives ricocheting off trees can reach the basket with a mid-range approach shot and putt.I was able to get under par on my first attempt, but had to work for it.Signage is good. With white placards and red arrows pointing the way to the next pads. The pads are gravel and as of this writing, in poor shape. Ankle twisting divots are in the center of each. Because the drives are not big throws, not a huge issue but still forces you to think of your foot work rather than the throw itself. And the throws have to be precise. It’s not my favorite course. But it’s worth a play or two.
