This place is old and uncared for. The photos are from another time when there must have been some pride in the ownership. We arrived very tired and needing a nap, had to ask the young man twice to stop playing basket ball out side my room.... no nap... shower did not work... watched the manager try to fix it with a new show head but clearly there wasn't enough water pressure to get water up to the shower head. Finally, after much discussion, with a miserable man, got a different room, it was the other room they had actually put together, had the shower head changed and then got the manager to turn on the water heater... wanted me to just go to another room to shower...In the morning the long stay person 3 rooms down started yelling at the police on the phone and woke me up way to early. This place really needs new management, cleaned up and maybe it could be a low budget motel but doesn't make it to that point now.

Very private, no hot water, they don't seem to do guest rooms often anymore, seems very much like a month to month kinda place, overall though they were accommodating and the grounds are kept in pretty good shape

This is a review I was not looking forward to writing. We booked a six night stay and told we were given a discount for a multiple night stay. When we got there they put us in the Honeymoon Cottage (Divorce Cottage) and told us we got a discount because the jacuzzi was broken (which meant no bathtub). Only a shower with a broken shower head. No water pressure at all in the bathroom sink. Then we were told we had to take this room because we chose a queen size bed. (Other cottages having beds swapped) Website said fire pit (build your own) BBQ (charcoal, got the metal contraption, never got a grate to cook on) and salt water pool (Kidde wading pool with green stuff in it). We did make the most of it. I think the worst was the stench. It smelled really bad, like something was rotting. There was so much humidity in the room our sheets were literally wet. Glad we brought a blanket! The place was filthy. We did some cleaning, I think I ruined 2 pairs of socks in the sticky floors. One of the posted rules was not to steal the smoke alarm. Couldn't of done that as there wasn't one.I DO NOT recommended this place or WOULD NOT stay here again. Too bad for such a beautiful location. We felt deceived and taken advantage of.

So much potential. The people and the location are absolutely fantastic. But you cant have derelict vehicles laying about, the view from the cottage is stunning but property maintenance is lacking and the rooms need some updates. The raccoons got into the garbage last night and by 0930 it was still in the driveway, this property could be the envy of all the others but unfortunately the maintenance is lacking. We paid 130 ish for our room and 160 with taxes.

Honest review…. The rooms are dated but clean. Flat pillows and no ac. No screen doors and only one of our windows opened. It is dog friendly for an additional cost of $25. Our room (see the pictures) total cost for one night was $178.50 (including the fee for the dog). It is in a nice location close to grocery, gas, pet store, Canadian Tire and Tim Hortons. There are waking / hiking trails with parking just down the road. Best to drive to them and then walk (I didn’t do the trails just saw them). The water view is awesome and does help to bring this to a 2 star. There is an above ground outdoor pool also available. The weather a little chilly so we did not use it. But from the looks of it, maybe not in operation?!? Maybe it also needs some love. They have chicken and roosters wandering around and the rooster is pretty vocal. Pictures on website are definitely not recent … nothing except the water looks like the pictures. They also have other cabins but not sure what they look like on the inside. This place is pretty big. This place could really be a hidden gem but does need some love and attention especially for the rooms and the grounds. We stayed one night August 1, 2022

Older, very lovely, clean, and nicely maintained. Ppl who run it are fabulous but felt bad for them. Both unable to walk and still working like dogs! We were evacuated from our home due fires and they gladly gave us a discounted rate.

I love this place! It's the kind of place I wish I had extra time to stay and enjoy the property.Yes, it is a little dated. Our room had no A/C, but we didn't need it this night. We left our window open and I didn't hear any noise all night. In fact, It was the best sleep I've had in a long time.It is located on St. Margaret's Bay. And the view from the grounds is wonderful.I would definitely stay here again!

The View -right on the water is spectacular. Rooms are nice and bright. Staff are very helpful.and there are chickens running around loose. My dogs had never seen any before and of course wanted to chase them

Adequate stop to get a break from tenting. We stayed a night here on our road trip to avoid a rainy night and get out of the tent for a night. The location is quite nice, along the bay. Staff were friendly enough. The place was reasonably quiet; even though some of our neighbours had guests we had no trouble sleeping at night.Room was cleaned OK, not great. It also gets quite hot (no AC and no screen door), and was pretty musty smelling. Looking at the layout there doesn't seem to be any ventilation other than windows on one side, which is asking for trouble.Mattress was pretty hard and pillow was pretty flat but that's what you get with a motel.Overall, it gets you out of the elements for a night and it is a short drive from some very nice beaches / lookouts, so it's not bad. Watch out for the extra fee for using a credit card, though. You can probably do better for the price, but if you're booking late, you get what you get.

This is a very laid-back, perfectly enjoyable cabin experience. The cabins have the basic amenities available, which is great for those who prefer independent vacationing. The shower can take a little bit of time to get hot, but it'll get there.Chickens roam freely, which is a lovely rustic touch. If you go down to the waters edge, the beach is 50/50 seashells and rocks. In the shallows you'll find small crabs, hermit crabs, starfish, and the occasional minnow. There is a short dock/platform if you wanted to do a little fishing (mostly mackeral) and a small pool with 4ft depth, which is very clean. Each cabin has a gorgeous view of the ocean/bay, and there are plenty of benches and tables around. With a set of binoculars you can watch the activity of the entire bay.Parking is a little annoying. There isn't much space for large cars but there are some designated spots, and you're allowed to park on the grass in front of your cabin. The grounds is under a few renovations so watch out for various staff & the owner on his scooter.
