As a student, I’m really grateful YUBU is where it is located. Right behind Robarts and near the Athletic Centre. Just a prime spot. For those who can’t handle spice, don’t worry this wasn’t spicy at all (I have 0 tolerance). However, I do wish it was actually spicy…sometimes pain is needed. Tasted great, flavour profile was pleasant. Great snack to have before that brutal 2-3 hour lecture. FYI: They have seating inside.

I love tofu pockets so when I passed by the glowing sign displaying Yubu’s food, I had to stop by and try. Here are my thoughts:Food: the tofu pockets are kept in a cold display case so expect your food to be cold. I had the Egg Yubu, Wakame Yubu, Garlic Mushroom Yubu. The one that stood out the least was the Wakame (seaweed salad) Yubu. It’s great if you are craving seaweed salad, but nothing special. The Garlic Mushroom Yubu was warm for me as the kitchen was making it right after I ordered. Personally, I really liked having it warm. The garlic mushroom is a bit too salty for my taste, but still enjoyable. The Egg Yubu was my favorite! This was served cold and the egg had a sweeter taste to it. I’m glad I ordered it because it balanced out the saltiness from the garlic mushroom well!Price: the Yubu I got ranged from $3-$4 each so I spent over $14 in total. For this amount of food, it is a bit pricy. I do think it is worth it though considering their unique offerings plus they are conveniently close to UofT’s Robart Commons.Staff: the workers were kind and helped me out when I saw the egg was still available, but the screen indicated it was sold out.Space: this Yubu shares the area with multiple businesses, so you can also grab phở, Korean corndogs, and coffee from the vendors inside. There are a good amount of tables so you should have a pretty easy time finding a seat unless it’s extremely busy.Overall, I would recommend coming here if you want to try some unique Korean tofu pockets!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Very easy to order, since they have a kiosk with their entire menu. The tofu pockets are very filling for a good price! Definitely coming back to try more flavours.

Great little spot that has multiple little stores. The food was great. See the picture I posted. The service was great. The guy that was working helped by answering questions about the food, and suggesting the popular items. The atmosphere was a little warm, but this was probably due to the door being opened.Overall, I will try and make it back before I leave town!

Very tasty food! We got two 4-packs with an assortment of different flavours. Our favourite was the fried egg on top with the kimchi rice, but all of them were delicious. The mushroom one had a nice slight char to it. Both of the beef options were also good with a savoury flavour. The place is a bit hard to find but it's inside the gray building right at the corner. Once inside, head towards the back up the stairs (past the food court with the pho and Korean hotdog place).Staff was very friendly. They had a convenient digital kiosk where you can order and pay. Overall, I'm definitely coming back!

So good! Got the 4 piece set: spicy crab salad, torched salmon, spicy salmon, regular salmon Yubu. Very tasty. Easy to purchase, just a little pricey.

While I love the concept since inari sushi has always been my favourite type of sushi & I’m also a big fan of the Korean version (yubu), this place is just way too overpriced. The commonality between these two is that they are usually cheap and accessible, which is definitely not the case for Yubu the restaurant, especially for students and working-class folks that are looking for a quick bite.Don't get me wrong - although the ingredients were fresh and tasted good (come on, yubu and salmon sushi, of course), I don’t think the recipes were in any way unique compared to the other variations you can get from a sit-in sushi restaurant, and the quantity was extremely small to its price range (4 for 20 dollars). They didn't even have wasabi nor soy sauce for the customers. I found it a bit ridiculous. In addition, I’m not sure how to feel about seeing only one person working there for like 10 orders all by themselves, while doing the ordering, preps and more.I think it’s interesting to try it once, but I won’t come back unless the owner changes its model which seemed to me a bit too profit-oriented.

Tried this out since a friend brought them in to share! I’d love to come back and try their other flavours. They all looks so pretty too, and packed in sustainable containers. The only downside is it’s a bit on the pricier side considering the portion and value - would be great if they could offer a bundle price or something (not sure if it existed already)

Ordered the bulgogi, spicy salmon, torched salmon, egg and kimchi fried rice tofu pockets. While we thoroughly enjoyed the first three listed, the kimchi fried rice and egg flavours were underwhelming. We were advised to heat up the tofu pockets beforehand but they tasted good when cold as well.We did visit this location on the university campus during the weekend so the dining area was not well maintained or inviting. I would recommend this spot for takeout.
