Mill Creek Ravine South
Extending from 50 St to 34 St, featuring unpaved paths through a dense, naturalized forest of trees, with multiple entrances/exits into surrounding neighbourhood streets. Unfortunately 50 and 34 Streets also cut this segment off from Jackie Parker Park and the Meadows section of Mill Creek Ravine at either end (you’ll need to cross the roads). Paths are mostly in good condition but can get quite steep, and some areas are only accessible by stairs. Seniors, families with young children and strollers, cyclists, and dog walkers do make frequent use of it though (it’s also an off-lease area for dogs). Besides the main paths, there are also narrow trails that go deeper: these are often dense, unstable, and full of mosquitos, so tread carefully. Some of the main paths also have parts that narrow with steep edges.Amenities are very basic: just garbage cans, and a few community sandboxes scattered throughout. No lamp posts, so be aware in the dark of the path edges. No rest rooms, benches, water fountains or anything like that.In terms of wildlife, you’ll see mostly birds, squirrels, and insects. The more grassy areas can have a lot of dragonflies that help keep the mosquito population in check, and some areas are populated with butterflies. Mosquitos can get quite bad in some of the shadier parts, especially on the narrow trails. Ducks can sometimes be seen on the creek, and once I spotted a coyote but that’s uncommon.Tends to be quieter (but not empty) during the day, gets busier in the evenings and on weekends when everyone is home. No dedicated parking, just on-street parking alongside it.

I mainly go here for biking which is pretty fun WARNING Please don't let your dogs in the water the water is very dirty a d the ravine across the road has leech looking bugs in it and is a drainage option there are tunnels used for sewage please be cautious of exposed tree roots as well, overall great for MTB.

This is one of my favorite areas to walk! It is also a great area to work out/run. Lots of stairs leading up into the neighborhood and school park areas. Regular users of this ravine keep the area nice and clean, and there are many garbage cans to facilitate this!
