Its a super cute Asian grocery offering many interesting items! Many sweets and snacks. Some familiar from those offered at other local stores and some intriguing items I haven't seen before. Lots of authentic Asian ingredients and dry goods. Convenient location right on the corner with parking out front. Definitely worthwhile checking out

I'm so glad Weidu is here. Victoria once had a large, thriving Chinatown but there are few options left for acquiring non-Cantonese Chinese ingredients. I've recently taught myself Sichuan cooking which meant mail-ordering from the US and China. While the ordinary ingredients can be found in downtown Victoria (doubanjiang, douchi, various soy sauces, etc), Weidu has so much more. They have an extensive hot pot and freezer section and it's the only place with both green and red Sichuan peppercorns, rice wine starter, and so many more vital ingredients. They even carry fresh local duck eggs sometimes. I hope they thrive and grow.

I've really tried to welcome this store into the quaint, quality Cadboro Bay Village, but I give up. Three times I've gone in there and it looks like they're still moving in; there is a mess everywhere. It's as if they have no pride in their business, which really contrasts with the other businesses in the village. Often there is a spill out the front door of junk. It's like there's no attempt at all to think about integration or serving a broad base of customers, including summer tourists who are otherwise attracted to the appeal of the village. This is an urban store that is misplaced. Also, while I appreciate the market appeal of overseas products, this store seems to have little regard for redundant packaging or sensitivity towards the environmental effects of a store's worth of goods shipped in by container ships.

Had the WORST experience with their online store. No response after my order. They ask for extra 20 dollars for shipping after 2 weeks no delivery. No refund after I require the order to be cancelled. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company in order to get my money back. Totally IRRESPONSIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL!

This small Chinese grocery store has many Chinese snack options. I was pretty happy to find the strange flavor beans because it's a special snack my hometown Chongqing. Their sesame mooncake from Suzhou is also a great option for vegans. The store is a lot smaller than what I had anticipated. I am used to T&T in Vancouver or Ranch 99 in California. They can also organize the shelf space better.

One of the best selections of difficult-to-find panAsian products on the entire Island. Carries many brands of snacks, drinks, dry noodles, and beauty products that can not be found in Chinatown. Freezer section even stocks candied haw fruit; a must-buy if you have never tried it! Local and family run, they offer a $0.99 discount section that often has expensive items for very cheap. The staff is unobtrusive yet helpful, with fluent English. Highly recommend for the dirt cheap price on goods that would fetch $7-8 in more touristy areas and incredible selection.

Most of the snacks they shipped to me were expired for 1 months to 6 months, which made me really sick. And this supermarket will not refund you any expired snacks that you brought from them! Simply a shady business! Please do not buy their products or even do not go to their store!

Moved to the Island not long ago, and this is the best replacement for T&T for miles around. Also, for those commenting on expired products, note that Chinese manufacturers date stamp packages with production dates rather than expiry dates, so that may be what you’re looking at.
