First time at emergency in over a decade. It wasn't a busy night and there was a minimum 5 hour wait. 6-8 people waiting.I left after 2 hours as I was unable to sit or stand due to my injury and needed to lay down. I was about to pass out from pain. At one point I was sick to my stomach from pain.Staff suggestion put some of the gross and filthy stained chairs together and lay down. Disgusting! This was absolutely inappropriate, unsanitary and inhumane to suggest.There was a woman there with a serious looking injury rocking back and forth from pain who should have seen a doctor. She was there before I arrived and there after I left.In 2 hours not one person was takenTriage started to call names for reassessment.I am not blaming staff about the wait time but this is our medical system at it's finest -it's pathetic.You would think because there is still covid protocol they would at least clean and sanitize the chairs bit that's a big fat NO

My elderly wife began her physio therapy treatments 2 months after having a debilitating lower back operation in May this year. Following the operation, she couldn't even stand up on her own 2 feet let alone walk without serious pain. Her movements were strictly via a power chair at home. Given her age, etc - I honestly thought she would never walk again. I know she felt the same way as well. It was sad .......Later, twice weekly treatments at the Hotel Dieu for approx 10 weeks began and over time, made a huge difference/correction. The physio folks there got her up and walking with decent balance. They focussed on her lower body strength and balance to the point where she eventually began to stand and move on her own. Most importantly - thanks to the physio Team, my wife now has her self-confidence back and the desire to carry on with the exercises the Team gave her to follow. And I see further improvements in her mobility daily. now here at home. Bottom line = she has her life back now! The power chair is now gone.We will be eternally grateful for the superior treatment the Hotel Dieu physio Team provided. A very special thanks to Rob and Kelley for their superb effort and work provided my wife from beginning to end.Rob and Kelley represented themselves and the Hotel Dieu at an extremely high level - both professionally and personally. The Hotel Dieu is fortunate to have them on board! 10 stars (if I could give that many)!!!

HDGH is a top notch facility. My mother had wonderful care after her spinal surgery. Don't believe most of the reviews on this site as it seems most people think they are writing a review for the hospital on Oullette (which used to be called Hotel Dieu). I am hopeful that my mother can return to this facility after just having suffered a stroke last week...we would be so blessed.

My daughter was in a head on collision and needed rehab. First they kept her in isolation for covid despite testing negative twice at the other hospital. The nurse said you tested positive here

My grandfather was placed in palliative care and was there for just over 2 weeks. The staff on all shifts were very pleasant and accommodating. Tracy, the PA was amazing and was welcoming any questions at any time. I felt that my grandfather passed peacefully and in the care of people who cared. Thank you to the staff for the professionalism and care.

No wonder this place has a 2.9 star review. This hospital doesn’t care about any of their patients. Me and my mom to be treated have been waiting 10+ hours and they’re excuse is appalling. You don’t have any beds? Go somewhere and get some. This is completely messed up. If you need mental health help, you’re better off waiting until something bad happens for them to do something. Things shouldn’t have to get bad for them to do something. It’s disgusting the level of care they think they give out. More like none.

Rude nurses and rude doctors. One nurse was very rude to my father and even told him that she would not draw the blood unless he stopped moving when he was not moving at all. She refused to draw the blood but then came back and injured my father while drawing the blood. I asked a worker there to file a complaint and she did not know how. Incompetent, rude and lazy staff who have no business being in healthcare. My experience at the other hospital in the city, and at other hospitals outside Windsor like Milton was way, way better and more humane.

I would rather die at home alone than go through the inhumane treatment given by the nurses in the emergency department. Most people I talk to about this say the same thing. Not sure why these nurses feel they need to treat people so horribly but from what I've seen, there are several who should not be around people at all let alone provide any care. I know several people who would only go to leamington because windsor has become so bad. Not everyone has that option. Something needs to be done. I totally blame our government for this.

I stayed several years ago for residential treatment for gaming (Problem Gambling Services I believe). They saved my life but it wasn't perfect as they missed an opportunity to give me a proper diagnosis and lacked a psychologist to do so (the psychiatrist was only there for medications and the least helpful during my stay).All the negative reviews are for another facility it seems.If you require help for gambling or gaming addiction I can easily recommend contacting this facility and I wish you luck in your recovery.
