The client had purchased a home from a home builder, and the home builder had installed deck railings from South Side on homes in the area, but none of the decks in the neighbourhood had stairs.I originally contacted them with the intention of recommending my client use a product from SSO.It took more than 3 weeks to receive a quote for railings from them after repeatedly contacting the sales agent and replying with any requested details immediately.The client selected a different railing brand due to the wait, and I ordered caps through South Side Ornamental to cap the original railing ends. Any responses i received took several business days. I was told after placing the order that the product should be ready in 1 week or less. After a two week wait, I asked what was going on and was told the order had not yet been placed, and someone would have to come look at the railing to confirm colour. Once the order was confirmed, i was again told they would be ready in a week. It took 2 weeks for the order to be ready. I finally went to pick up the product, and upon arrival, discovered they ordered the incorrect caps (An email exchange with the salesperson previously made VERY clear what the order was, including photos of the installation location and a confirmation about the product specs). South Side told me they would order new caps and they would be ready the next day. A few days later, i was told they were ready. It turns out they simply took an angle grinder to the incorrect product to modify them and repainted them. I was told this was the best I was going to get and would still be paying full price for a sub-par product after weeks of awful service. The justification for no reduction in price despite the poor quality finish was that they were losing money on them because they had to re-do them". It was THEIR error in the first place

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING THEM. The worst customer service I've ever encountered. Every other review here that states they don't call anyone back is 100% accurate. Almost 10 weeks of chasing them only to find out that they weren't taking me seriously and they weren't interested in my business. no call backs, no computer system, no credit cards. The only reason I chased them this long was to match the existing railing which was done. I'll take my chances elsewhere.

Very disappointed by the customer service. I tried for 2 weeks to get someone to come check my property for a quote, and I kept being promised someone will show up in the coming few days. 15 days later and 2 follow-up emails, no one even called to apologize for the delay or even say things will be delayed. I had to cancel and surprisingly nobody even acknowledged the email I sent to cancel. I called another family owned business in AB who sent their agent within 48 hrs.

Pathetic business practices, constant lying. We paid for and ordered railing for a client over 2 months ago. We call every day asking for an update and they say they will have an update by the end of the day. They never call back.Our clients deck is 8 ft up and has no railing. Our clients are in their 70’s.We have ordered lots of railing over the last 6 years from this company but every year they get worse with customer service and communication.This will absolutely be the last time I put up with there garbage.My clients a furious and I am unable to update them.You are a joke of a business and if necessary I will use our social media platform to make people aware of these shady actions.

Wouldn’t recommend this company at all. We placed an order for a small hand rail and was told 4-6 weeks. Called back 6 weeks later since we hadn’t heard anything, they had no idea who we were or what we ordered and said they would look into it and call us the following day.we didn’t hear anything for a couple more days so we called back, same thing. They didn’t know who we were or what we ordered, and once again told they would look into it and call us back the next day. When we called a third time and told the same thing we decided to go else where. Based on the other reviews we thought this company would be good, we were very wrong! I am more then happy to take my business else where for the rest of our handrails we will be getting made !

I have had work done by South Side Ornamental Iron Works two times now. First I had them install railing at the front of our house, they were able to match my fascia color very well and I am extremely happy with the work and whole experience. Approximately 6 months later I had finished building our back deck and requested South Side to match what they originally did on the front of our house. The whole process took about 3-4 weeks but it was definitely worth the wait. I would highly recommend their services.

South Side Ornamental replaced the vinyl on our deck. The two man crew was efficient, skillful and completed the work in a timely manner. The quality of work was excellent and the site was left clean after completion of the job.Subhash

Purchased a railing for my parents to help assist them with their mobility up their front steps. I was led through a showroom by a very nice and knowledgeable gentleman and the end product was installed quickly by their guys. Start to finish I was very pleased.

Our glass privacy wall was installed today by South Side Manufacturing, one day earlier than the original time estimate. Our experience with this company has been excellent throughout. Their employees have been thorough, courteous, helpful, and efficient and our wall looks great. We give them 5 stars.

They did an amazing job on our massive deck railing!! Quick turn around and affordable! not to mention Danny and his crew are super great guys!! I would recommend these guys in a heart beat!!
