Kids First Pediatric Therapy

I am a privately practicing Speech-Language Pathologist who provides services to preschool and school-aged children. I was fortunate to meet Deb through the family of a shared client. She was instantly open to collaboration through joint therapy sessions and has been a joy to work alongside.Deb is truly dedicated to her clients! She is passionate about her work and provides a welcoming and warm environment in which her clients and families are able to learn and grow. She also embraces family-centred care being sure to include the parents every step of the way.I would highly recommend Deb and Kids First Pediatric Therapy to anyone seeking an Occupational Therapist!

My daughter has been working with Deb for about 2 and a half months. In that time her progress on balance and coordination has been stunning. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Kids First. All the staff are lovely and my daughter loves going.

We recently transitioned our 4 year old son's OT services to Kids First and we couldn't be more pleased with our choice!From our first contact with the clinic's administrative staff, Lania, we were impressed with the team's level of organization and kindness.Our son was evaluated by Deb (the clinic owner) and it added to our understanding of why the team receives 5/5 star reviews. It was immediately clear that she is a very experienced professional and uses an evidence-based, thoughtful, and fun approach to OT.Deb seamlessly passed along information about the evaluation to our son's primary OT, Cailey. She, too, has been wonderful!Our son, who is typically hesitant with new faces, happily trotted off with Cailey at this first follow-up appointment and hasn't looked back since. She makes the sessions entertaining and engaging while readily addressing his therapy goals. We are so thankful to have Kids First Pediatric Therapy in our lives. Our 6 year old son was diagnosed with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) when he was 4.5 yrs old and was scoring in the first percentile for gross and fine motor skills for children his age. He's been attending weekly OT sessions at Kids First since he was 5 and has come such a long way! He's always super happy to go to his sessions and has loved the two therapists he's seen there. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure the kids and family are engaged and part of the treatment plan. Even through the thick of covid, we continued to feel supported by Kids First. I highly recommend!

We met and have being working with Deb Lightman for more than 2 years. She is not only an outstanding professional. She is truly committed with the kids. They are definitely first. She is also very communicative with their parents or caregivers, allowing the whole human group around her to grow and collaborate as a team with our kids development.The establishment is beautiful, clean, and complete. From the parking lot, the waiting room, the washroom, the table work room, the meeting room to the gym, are all friendly spaces.I own big part of my son's progress to Deb's work and now to this place.I have recommended Kids First Pediatric Occupational Therapy to several families and I will keep doing it because is a great place to learn, have fun, progress continuously and achieve goals that will improve our kids life forever.

My son has been seeing Deb for about an year and a half and our experience has been phenomenal. Mason loves hanging out with Deb every Friday. Deb is kind, patient and compassionate. I have seen a huge improvement in Mason's fine & gross motor skills and overall confidence. She is a great listener and always asks what has been going on for Mason at school and home. I love being able to tell her things that we are practicing or working on with Mason so they can incorporate into their lesson. Everyone there including Lania has been awesome and so organized. What makes Kids First Pediatric an excellent facility is the great combination of a fun, organized and calm environment along with fun, organized and engaging therapists. My son has been seeing Deb for about 5 months now and the experience has been phenomenal! Deb and the rest of the team know their stuff. They are all super friendly and truly have the kids best interests at heart.Deb is kind, compassionate and somehow manages to keep her calm and cool demeanor even when tiny humans and throwing fits. We’ve been working with Sam for a couple of years and Aprelle for a year! Both are amazing.My daughter works with Aprelle and she loves her time when she is there.My son adores Sam. He will do anything to spend time with Sam.Lania(the admin) keeps everything organized and is so on top of everything’. Check out the Toucan series! I love these books and have gifted many, especially to teachers! They are fantastic and help people with (or without) children understand how to adjust different situations so that all children with different sensory skills can get the most out of one another and learning!
