Waterdown District Children's Centre

Took excellent care of our toddler. Teachers cared for him seemingly as much as we did. He loved going there and made many friends. He enjoyed learning and had fun every day, to the point it was hard to get him to leave sometimes.

We enrolled our son when he was 2 years old and 9 months who was used to staying home with us and dealing with cousins and grandparents only. The teachers made sure they made him feel welcome and included! He loved going to play with his new friends and amazing teachers. They transitioned him gradually and nurtured him into the preschoolers he is today. Their kindness showed from day 1 and I was so grateful for it. They taught him self regulation, independence and have met his needs. Great team of teachers who work closely with the family if anything should come up! Definitely recommend this daycare.

Unfortunately we have had nothing but issues with this camp since Day 1. They are not staffed to handle children with special needs and would rather dismiss them the rest of the summer instead of working with them. this leaves the parents scrambling for care for the remainder of the summer. I am very disappointed in a summer camp that would discriminate kids who have special needs to make them feel like they are less than adequate.

Our sincerest thanks is sent with much appreciation to all of the staff working at both WDCC and Camp Waterdown.Our daughter has attended both the before & after care programme at WDCC and Camp Waterdown over the past 4 years (2015-2019) and she absolutely loves them!The staff have always been accommodating, their programs creative, fun and well organized. As a parent, we appreciate the extra time and effort that the team makes to ensure the kids environment is bright, clean and inclusive.Most recently, our daughter has enjoyed the Senior Adventurers camp this Summer. We love that she comes home after Summer camp with lots of stories to share! She has made so many new friends at Camp Waterdown and she absolutely adores her Camp Directors.The same can be said for the team at WDCC’s before & after school care program. Our daughter always comes home with artwork, crafts and other things that suggest her overall engagement and enjoyment.Again, a very big thanks to Shelley, Wayne, Katelyn and the entire team at both WDCC & Camp Waterdown. You are all Pro’s at what you do best and our daughter has sincerely benefited from your guidance and care.We highly recommend the programs offered at both WDCC and Camp Waterdown!Leigh R.
