Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation - Maplesoft-Jones Centre

I work at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation as part of the Cancer Coaching team. The work is very rewarding and the Foundation offers a positive environment that promotes both innovation and collaboration between team members. I consider myself very lucky to be able to support my community through our unique Cancer Coaching program.

I joined the Foundation last year as the Social Media & Website Specialist. The team, clients, and community have shown me a whole new level of altruism, that I cannot place enough value on. Experiencing events, hearing stories, and connecting with people in this community gives you strength and empathy. Having had little background in philanthropy and oncology, I am relieved to be more aware and knowledgeable in such powerful and fulfilling fields of study.The work culture is like no other I've experienced. Incredibly people-focused and dedicated to enhancing everyone's well-being. Offering staff opportunities to work-out, health and fitness challenges, and positive energy that fills each room. I'm thankful for all the experiences and highlights - like the time I grew" my 12 different coloured staches. Ladies

What a wonderful and magical place. Highly recommended to anyone dealing with a cancer diagnosis. This place has given me so many life skills to deal with the mental battle that is attached to this horrible disease by lending a sympathetic ear and providing (non-prescriptive) sound advice in outstanding turn around times. Melina is a great cancer coach!

What a great service for those families in need. Incredible volunteer staff... Ottawa is lucky to have a facility like this. You can call them for all kinds of services including family counseling and renting the conference room for family get-togethers. Includes a full kitchen and beautifully landscaped grounds. Thank you Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation for the board room we were able to rent. The booking process and communication was very easy and fast. The room itself has all the technology and equipment you need for a hybrid meeting so we will definitely come back!

Welcoming, warm, inviting space and staff. The programs and facility look amazing. I look forward to sharing this resource with others and doing everything I can to help raise money to support this extremely valuable service that all of us will and do need at some point in our lives.

The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation is comprised of amazing individuals who truly care about the causes they support. Their Lemonade Standemonium fundraiser has become our annual family tradition. It is great to see the funds that are raised go towards resources that help members of our local community.

Thank God for the Maplesoft center. The hospital is great for doctors but the oncology psych-social is stupid overburdened and recently crazy cut backs. The Maplesoft Centre provides MUCH better support with Cancer Coaches, Cancer classes and peer support and events. Beautiful facility, beautiful work. Thank you Maplesoft Centre!

Maplesoft -A place of competence and compassion for persons and families affected by cancer.
