This place is usually amazing. I go to almost every hang the dj since it’s USUALLY neuro divergent friendly. But tonight is not one of those nights. So I have a huge friend group and half of us love to dance and half of us love to hang out in the back room. It’s the perfect set up. Those who dance dance and those who get over stimmed watch the table and have amazing conversation. But every once in awhile we will all come pay our cover only to then find out it’s going to be a miserable night. The inconsistency is making us not want to show up anymore. Which sucks because we usually all buy food and get hammered here. Was really looking forward to the dill pickle frys. But ya consistency would be great.

I have been to dickens many times to watch live music and play the stage myself.The staff are great the layout is convenient with lots of room at the back of the club to get away from the stage if you are trying to hold a conversation and lots of room in front of the stage so you can take in any show you are there to see.Dickens has been a mainstay in the Calgary scene for many year and hopefully it will be around for may more.

The owner Chris is an interesting character. They needed more guys to bounce for one of their shows. I met everyone and I know most of the people there. First thing he says to me is no cowboy hats. Buddy I have never had anyone tell me no cowboy hats! We live in Alberta! Welcome to cowtown. So I left because I ain’t gonna work at a place that discriminates against people who run Alberta! I really like this venue. Its relative small, great for underground music! The stage is on the smaller size and so is the area around it but that never stopped people from having hell of time moshing :-).Staff is great and friendly. Sound can be hit/miss so bring earplugs. Parking is just around the corner. The one across the 9th ave is under construction so be aware.Bathrooms could be bigger, but i never had to wait.Its a great plays to come and enjoy some great metal shows.Never tried the food but the drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders are fast and always friendly.Come and support some local and not so local bands. You'll have a great time!

Went for Electric highway festival! Awesome live music spot, Pizza was good and the drinks were cold. Also had a great selection of non alcoholic drinks for my friend who was DD for the night. I will be going back.

Fun place to go on the weekends. Lovely service at the bar.One thing, I've called a few times inquiring about tickets for a group of people. I understand some shows are sold out. There is a woman that sometimes answers, and when asked about availability, almost gets defensive/sounds angry.. just something to be aware of.Other than that, great times and highly recommend!

We had a great time dancing and having some drinks. I had Wild Rose Sunday Fuzz which the bartender helped me pick out and it was amazing. Also can’t help but to mention how attractive the bouncers are.

By far my favourite drinking hole!!! They went above and beyond for me. My favourite band Madball did a show here and I brought in a massive painting and they got it signed for me. I am in tears from happiness and I hope they know how much I appreciate the staff that made this happen
