Hamilton Drum Lessons

Matt is our youngest son's drum instructor and he is awesome! Matt's approach is very positive and his style of teaching has really resonated well. Our son was ready to stop the drums all together and now he is excited, engaged and looks forward to playing!

Went into my first lesson knowing next to nothing and after just 6 lessons I am feeling incredibly competent. Matt is a great tutor. Have nothing but great things to say about his teaching style. 10/10 would recommend.

Matt's been my teacher for a while. I am a mature student, who knew to be a better drummer. I needed to fix some fundamentals that I miss over a self taught drummer. Matt has helped me phenomenally and I will keep using Matt to grow as a musician. BTW, Matt's really cool and very nice too. Check him out in some his his bands, he is really outstanding!!!

Matt is an excellent teacher. He has always conducted himself in a professional manner but, at the same time make it fun with each lesson. I have had lessons in-person (pre-Covid) as well as remotely and the experience is always the same: productive, progressive and fun! I have had other teachers in the past and I found Matt's methods to be the most effective. He has a good understanding on what it is to be a great teacher because that makes a big difference. He is very knowledgeable and caters each lesson based on your skill level. I can recall one of my first songs I had asked him to teach me. It was a more complex one (e.g. Math Rock) and I might have been overly ambitious but, I really liked the song and wanted to play it. Matt figured out a way for me to learn the song and break it down in sections. If I could not produce the same results or get the time signatures right etc., he would find ways that would make sense based on my level. Today, I can play that same song almost exactly to the tee all because of his teachings and now I love playing it over and over. I continue to progress and enjoy taking lessons with him. The long and short of it is if you want a teacher who is effective, patient, knowledgeable and fun - go with Matt. Oh and the price point is great for the results you get! kudos

Matt is a great drum teacher, he's had to get creative with teaching online and he's made it work. I've been a student of his for over a year and I always have a big smile on my face after every lesson. As an adult student it's hard to find time to practice, but Matt is understanding and encouraging.

I took lessons with Matt for 4 years, he is a great teacher with a huge range of experience of different musical styles. He's flexible and really tailored the program to fit my interests and schedule.

Matt is an excellent teacher. I have done classes in person and virtually, for over one year. With his help I have learned to drum to the music that I enjoy. Matt provides exercises via email to practice between classes.I have learned quite a lot from Matt and really enjoy the benefits of his talent and knowledge.

Matt has been teaching my son drums for several years now. He is an amazing teacher who takes the time to plan lessons based on my sons musical taste. My son loves him and he has turned into a pretty good drummer. I would not hesitate to recommend Matt to anyone interested in pursuing the drums..

Matt has been teaching our son (who was 8 when he started) for 2 years now. My son started with never playing the drums before and with Matt's teaching he has excelled beyond our expectations. Playing all kinds of different songs has really broadened our sons ability to learn and love of music. Matt has an amazing ability to connect with kids where he makes it fun. My son is always looking forward to his next lesson. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone.
