Perfect little spot on your travels. The hosts are very nice. The rooms are super clean. It's a perfect location for Kakabecka Falls, 3 min. drive, or Thunder bay.Grocery store is a walk directly accross the road

We stayed at this motel on our last day of travel from the East coast to Manitoba. The owners are super friendly and it is evident that they are putting in a lot of effort to update the rooms. Room was very clean with updated beds, tables and some fixtures. Some rooms had upgraded windows and the exterior updated as well. I am excited to see the progress they make! It’s an old building and it takes time and money to make all these changes. Our room had older carpet and paneling for walls, but was still cozy and clean. Will definitely visit again! New flooring and paint will definitely make the rooms complete once done. The motel is walking distance or a quick 2 minute drive to the amazing Kakabeka falls and campground. I gave the rooms 3 stars only because the one we stayed in still needed some upgrades. I encourage you to support the owners and book your next stay here :) they are pet friendly too!

We stayed here a couple of times last summer. Clean and quaint. Very dog friendly. Good wifi. Right next door to a good burger + restaurant. We enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend

Very Clean room. Older room But new bathroom and the beds were comfortable and perfectly high end white sheets and duvet. Very nice owner and even had dog dishes and pet bed by the door for us. I am nervous person and she and room with bolt lock made me feel comfortable. Great affordable place to stay while traveling. Also need to mention Amy is the best cleaning lady we have had on this trip across Canada. Highly recomed!

Great spot right on highway 17. Rooms are clean and cozy. Super comfy beds and room is warm. Dave working the desk is a really nice guy. Convenient parking and location in general.

I had a one night, last minute stay here after seeing what a circus the in-town hotels were. The staff was very accommodating especially with the potential that I might need an extra night pending a snow storm.The room itself was the type of cozy you hope for when a place is described as cozy. It had a nice sort of cabin feel. Which, while dated, only seemed worn and not neglected. My only gripe was some damage/wear to the carpet.The renovated bathroom was great. It both looked and felt clean and comfortable.For being able to support a local place that seems well kept, the price actually seemed too low for its value.Honestly, bump up the price $10-20 and replace the carpet and you have probably the best place to stay in the area for the price.

Clean room, nice new mattress and good furnishings. Well stocked kitchenette, and quiet for a highway motel. Great, friendly customer service. Will definitely stay again when I return to work in the area.

This quaint motel was a bright spot on my drive across Canada to my new home!After a long day of driving I was grateful that Kelsey was at the desk when I arrived - she is so kind and friendly. Thankfully there was room to park my u-haul and my truck/trailer although I could potentially see space being a problem in higher season months.The room was warm, clean and cozy! I read some posts about the hotel being dated but I think it’s a delightful blast from the past with modern touches. I can’t imagine the work and effort that goes into updating a motel. You can tell there’s a pride in ownership and they’ve made an effort to modernize the rooms.A dog bed, blanket & 2 bowls were waiting for my pups- what a thoughtful touch. Lots of areas to take them for a quick walk around the motel grounds and surrounding areas.I did notice noise from trains and trucks, but being that I slept with my window open & we’re right on the highway I think that’s understandable!This motel was exactly what I needed after so much driving. Microwave, mini fridge & coffee maker included.Heads up for people driving through- limited availability of food- we drove into Thunder Bay to grab dinner which wasn’t a huge issue and I did notice snacks at the front desk but just a heads up!If I make the drive again to visit family in AB, I will definitely stay here.

I was travelling home and didn't wish to stay directly in Thunder Bay. I had my dog and the reception I received was just awesome and so friendly. The room was clean and a surprise as there was dog bowls and a pet bed provided. This was the only place in all my travels that provided that convenience and it truly was appreciated.

This place is a hidden gem for sure… we were moving across the country with our whole crew- 5 animals and 3 kids and we were accepted without issue. The rooms are super clean and are decorated in a cute retro style.. they’re incredibly friendly and make you feel very welcome. I also felt much more safe here than in Thunder Bay so if we ever travel this far again this will be our first choice. Thanks so much for the comfortable stay! I should add that the sound proofing seems to be really good because I didn’t hear a single noise during our stay and it was fully booked!
