First time at the Pepper Cat, we've been to the Salty Dog many times.The atmosphere is more upscale and is more tailored to couples on an evening out.We chose the upper level and had a fantastic waitress take care of us. Full of energy and happy to be there taking care of us.We were with another couple and chose the warm herbed focaccia loaf and watermelon salad as appetizers. For the entrees we decided on the tomahawk steak dinner for two for us guys and the girls each got chicken Lafontaine.The meals were fantastic. We all tried a bit of each other's meal. The accompaniments we're also excellent and they all went well with the drinks we chose.Everyone there was happy and had a good sense of humour which adds to the overall evening.A great place to have a dinner with good friends or just your significant other and then a nice stroll in the historic and beautiful downtown Amherstburg.We'll be back!!

Very nice atmosphere and great service. The pistachio crusted lamb lollipop was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever eaten. Thank you to our server Brooke for being great!!!

The Pepper Cat is amazing! We had our work Christmas party here and had the best time! The food was delicious and there is so much variety on the menu. Don’t skip the Brussel sprout appetizer - it was to die for. I had steak and lobster as my main and it was cooked perfectly. Everyone at my table loved their food, not a single complaint. The cocktails were not only beautiful but they also tasted great! The bartender was great and made us some fun concoctions upon request. The best part of the night was our amazing server Amy! She took care of us and put up with all our requests while cracking jokes and making us laugh all night! I’ll be back for sure!

My friends and I came to Peppercat tonight, all for the first time, but definitely not the last! We were seated immediately and had the entire top floor to ourselves. The ambience was lovely and Mercedes, our server, was great! All of our food was very tasty, although I would've appreciated a slightly bigger portion for the Chilean sea bass entree. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back again.

Food was good but took forever to come. Waitress was nice but seemed fairly flustered. When we asked for something, she would say ok but not actually bring it out. One of the girls was given a glass that had lipstick marks on it, she asked for a new glass and they brought her one right away. We were unfortunately seated next to the restrooms and every time someone used the bathroom, it really smelled bad (not the experience you’re looking for while dining out at an expensive restaurant). Was a little disappointed as we had been wanting to try for a while, probably wouldn’t go back.

Great place to have a high quality meal. Not a lot of vegetarian options on the menu. They didn't have cashews in the vegan bowl as listed on the menu but overall a good experience. Portion sizes are on the smaller size for the price but food tasted good. Drinks were great and service was wonderful.

Brought the wife and another couple out today for dinner. Service was great, though food came out pretty slow. I didn't care for the mash potatoes. They had slices of hard potatoes mixed in the mash which I didn't like at all. One of my carrots was pretty much raw as well. All the proteins were cooked perfectly. The wife got the ravioli with shrimp which she liked and I tried and was pretty good. 29 bucks for 7 ravioli's and 5 shrimp I'd a bit over priced I feel. The bread pudding was great.

My co worker and I went for dinner as consolation for a bet we made. It was the first time for both of us. The location is wonderful with an ice cream shop, other restaurants and the water for your enjoyment.They have a patio and indoor dinning. We ordered crab cakes to start. He had the lobster ravioli with was delicious and I had the New York Steak which was cooked exactly as ordered. We finished off with a crème brûlée. The presentation of the food was beautiful. I am looking forward to going back for the tomahawk for 2 with my boyfriend.

We had a wonderful start to our Pepper Cat experience, seated right away, got slices of bread (room temperature) with nice compound butter and got our escargot appetizer and drinks quickly. But then, we waited 35 minutes between the appetizer and the entrées. For context, our reservation was on a Wednesday at 6:30. I had the yellow fin tuna, which was bland, there was no fresh sweet taste of tuna. The heirloom carrots and bok choi were delicious and livened up my taste buds. The other dishes that my family had were good. The mashed potatoes mixed with the bearnaise sauce from the steak Neptune was delicious. The steak in question was chewy. All in all, it was OK.
