I stumbled upon this gem and was left breathless. Reading through the reviews and seeing pix here I realized there was still so much to explore. (It has an upstairs?!?) I didn't make it much pass the first few bookcases, that were full of leather bound, special editions of classic literature. I was in love, pulled up a chair and started digging in. Prices are very reasonable, and John Berry is a delight. As a book lover it's so great to share the admiration of books, and he is a true book collector, and charming to boot!It's a paradise for book lovers, this is true. And you will spend many hours. I ended up looking through my pile to select what to keep on price point, but then John said he has a buy 2 get 3rd free sale, and I was able to buy all 6!! A fabulous edition to my library.Thanks John I will be back. To get out of my town and to just come and visit you. Thank you so much for keeping this wonderful shop!

Great used bookstore with a large variety of genres. Not much space to move around, books are stacked everywhere. Found some really interesting books (Epic of Gilgamesh) .... didn't buy, some of the prices seem a little high. The building has some interesting architecture and is located downtown Kingston, so a great place to stop in while down by the waterfront. One of my favorite bookstores.

I discovered this shoppe by pure chance while strolling around downtown Kingston and with some time to kill before brunch. I only had less than an hour but it was totally fun and brought back a lot of memories of old bookstores (the narrow staircase, stone walls and the wooden beams with walls and walls of books). The books were reasonably priced (look for the penciled price in the inside cover) and they were having a “buy 2, get third one free” deal. Will definitely go back.

One of the best used bookstores in the province, I'd say. A ridiculously fine selection of books, including rare and antiquarian titles. They also have an ongoing 'Buy 2 books, get 1 free' special. A favourite bookstore since I was a teenager, it's a pleasure to return there, and blissfully lose an afternoon.

This cool local shop has a massive selection. I bought my first Noam Chomsky book here because they have the social justice/politics section right up front.There are piles of books all over the store which gives the place a cozy feel.Great place to go instead of chapters or indigo.

Great store excellent selection, but the books were not well organized. The staff member running the store was friendly and helpful. I managed to find a gem here.

This is my all time favourite used book store. It not only has a wide range of content, but also a delightful atmosphere for perusing on endless shelves tucked into nooks and crannies all around the store. It smells amazing exactly as you'd hope a used book store would. I have been countless times, and not once have I left disappointed. The staff are also incredibly friendly and knowledgable. I highly recommend going!

A book-lover's dream. Every turn reveals another room or nook with more stacks and shelves and piles of books.

Wonderful place.I have a hobby now of building a personal library with hardcovers of all my favorite books and my current collection would not even be a quarter of the size it is now if not for this store.
