If you are losing beard hairs and eyebrow hairs, and accounted for other health factors, and you live near this place, it could be the water from your shower. Get a shower filter and don't drink straight out of the tap. The treated water" is probably more concentrated the closer you live to this place."

Britannia Water Purification Plant
In 2018, I requested and was able to take a tour here for a chemistry class trip. The interior is a really, cool art deco kinda style. The images show a small model inside the facility, some flocculation tanks and some giant diesel (either generator or pump). It's a very fascinating facility, I think legally they need to test the water twice a year or something, they test it daily.

Britannia Water Purification Plant
I visited this place some years ago when it was open to public on a Doors Open day in early June. The staff was very competent and explained water-purification process from the beginning of rough filter to addition of chlorine. One visitor asked the difference between chlorine and fluorine, and the staff was able to give technical answer. Great!

I regularly hike around the Britannia Water Purification Plant as part of my longer hike at Britannia Conservation Area. It's a great area for Nature viewing and birding.
