Monaghan Patrick Dr

I chose to go to his office in Red Deer (from Strathmore, a two hour drive) so I could get in faster as I had been waiting to see a specialist for almost two years now. Dr. Monaghan was very brief and I felt rushed. However, we did touch base again and he mentioned a few things to look into.

I previously posted (and recently deleted) a review that I wrote out of frustration.I would like to apologize to Dr. Monaghan regarding that review.I am confident that he has the credentials to make the appropriate decisions in his chosen profession and does so professionally, honestly and ethically.

I can honestly say this doctor was very polite and sociable to talk to. But... He absolutely offered no help whatsoever to my problem with tinnitus. He didn't even recommend I google all the possible solutions. He just kept repeating himself you don't have a tumor". The condition of tinnitus has a wealth of resources and information about it. He would not acknowledge any of it. I will not be returning to his office again."

Absolute Excellent experience!! I could not hear as everything was muffled other than the buzzing noise happening inside my ears. The receptionist gave me a very quick apptment date as she understood my discomfort and then Dr Patrick Monaghan very gently removed the build up in my ears and I could hear again instantly. Wonderful people! Thank you so much!!!

I am so glad to be referred to Dr. Monaghan about my ear infection . He was so professional and informative about my condition. I’m also glad that Kim addressed the urgency of my condition to be seen by the doctor. Now, I feel so much better. And I would highly recommend this clinic for all your ear,nose, throat problems.

I will not return to Dr. Monaghan's practice solely because of the receptionist. While Dr. Monaghan was excellent, the receptionist however, had a piss-poor attitude and her behaviour spoke louder to me than the interaction with the Dr. Monaghan- despite even being given great results.

Poor experience on my appointment today.The receptionist was kind. Asked me to remove my shoes and leave my coffee with her, which is fine, in my opinion.During the meeting with Dr.Monahan, he listened to my concerns and checked me out. He simply told me that I needed to trust my other doctor, saying he was a good Dr. Why accept my appointment for a second opinion just to tell me that and offer little to no other insights.When I pressed for more information the Dr became dismissive, and opened the door as a way to tell me to shut up.After the appointment, I asked if there was a bathroom I could before I left, as I drove over an hour to get there.The Dr promptly said no with his backed turned to me whilst walking away.I went out and asked the receptionist for a washroom, and she kindly showed me yo a door that said staff only

The receptionist I talked to over the phone gave poor customer service and displayed unprofessional behaviour. Thus, I did not want any one of my family members to use their services.

I had chosen to go to his Red Deer location as it would be quicker for me to get in and see a specialist. My first visit with Dr. Monaghan was short and not quite what I expected but after my dad had gone in to see him after I spent time crying in my car (worrying about my health), he had agreed to see us before lunch after his other patients were seen to. I did have more questions as my brain doesn't work as well as it should and used to so I don't think of things as quickly right now. We were able to clear the air and I finally was able to ask the questions that had come to my mind after the appt, stress my concerns about my current health situation and why I was so worried. He explained more about my vocal cords and why a speech therapist would be able to help as I don't have a surgical problem that he would be able to fix (no visible mass causing my hoarseness). I am more than happy and thankful that he was able to take the time to see myself and my dad again. I mentioned to him yesterday that I was able to get in to follow up with my GP today about where we go from here and what we can do as I am at a loss. He and his team were able to send the letter to my GP and she went through that with me today. When I was heading to look for my humidifier this morning I was getting a call from his office. I thought it was going to be the office staff but it was Dr. Monaghan himself! He was checking in on me, seeing how I was doing, how my appt went this morning with my GP and that he sent a referral off to the ENT Dr. Bosch in Calgary for moving forward with the speech therapy. He was making sure if I had any other questions or concerns he would be able and be there to help. I am so thankful he called, it just made me feel so much better. He took the time, with his busy schedule, to call me. That means the world to me :)
