Vimy Officer's Mess

I was there because I am a member of the Royal Military College, Kingston Branch and with my wife were attending a mess dinner of our Branch. Usually, we would have such an event at the Senior Staff Mess at the RMC but our Branch members wanted a change on this occasion.I've probably been at this Mess a half a dozen times over the past fifty years. It's a spectacular mess not only because of its heritage structure and the several spaces full of impressive wood furniture and silver trophies. This mess has this wonderful view to the south overlooking the St. Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands. Normally, this view would be seen only by Mess members. However, this Mess is often a site for a major fundraising black tie event. On such an occasion, it would provide a member of the public access to the lovely old building and its wonderful view.

Such nice,refined finishes inside. Beautiful lake view; new bar is nice!

Great patio. Stuffy interior could use with a lighting upgrade. Has the atmosphere of an old smoking room that makes you want to spend all your time out in the rain on the patio breathing fresh air.

Such an amazing piece of real estate.

Very beautiful venue, due to both its location and interior furnishing/decor. Someone from the Forces needs to sponsor" an event held here

It was a beautiful building with lots of parking. Unfortunately it was very cold (apparently the heat is managed elsewhere) maybe 15 degrees in the dining room. Additionally, and this probably isn't their fault, but the party we attended didn't have vegetarian food as we were promised.

Very old building with historical items abound. Not normally open to the public though. Dress code applies at all times.

A super classy location. If you like to have a pint in a old military style pub this is the place for you. Prices are great and the staff very accommodating.

Great atmosphere and experience. Lots of different rooms for events and a great outdoor space.

We love that this brewery moved to our neighbourhood. They always have amazing Guest Release beer, but their regular beer never disappoints either!
