JAC's Firewood

I have bought firewood here before and had firewood delivered by Jac's. We recently bought a basket of kiln dried and it was not dry. I called them and told them. They told me they had a bad batch and I was not the only one to let them know. They asked me what they could do for me. I asked them for another basket of kiln dried firewood. They were happy to give me another basket - no charge. Thank you Diane and John. We will be back!

The wood i got was supposed to be kiln dried. It had a moisture content of around 40 percent. I think i recieved green wood. Basically told that I didn't know how to burn wood and I would have to deal with it. I gave three stars because the delivery driver was great to deal with and it was a good size cord even though it was virtually useless. I would have gave 1 star for customer support.

Buyer beware. Do not buy the so-called kiln-dried" firewood from this place. Their "kiln-dried" wood is still green and will sizzle and hiss in your wood stove for a couple of hours before eventually drying out enough to burn. Sap literally drips from the ends of my firewood in the stove. Don't spend your hard-earned money here and look elsewhere

Have been heating my home with wood for over thirty years. Before I purchased from Jac's it was like pulling teeth getting a vendor to deliver. From not answering phone calls, not returning messages and not being able to commit to a delivery I felt like I was doing them a favor buying their firewood. Jac's has always been easy to contact and has delivered when promised. They have and continue to be a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them.

So much more consistent and trustworthy than what I’ve gotten in the past dialing some number from a classified ad in the local newspaper or whatever. Jac’s website has all the details. Jac's is the best supplier of Kiln dried firewood I have dealt with and I have been buying chord wood for 40 years!!!I heat with wood and use 3 to 5 chord of kiln dried a year. I find kiln dried burns slower and that I use less in my Jotul wood stove, so I have switched over to all kiln dried. I am accustomed to picking up wheel barrels full of bark, shards and dirt where it was dumped after I stack the wood. I have purchased the same number chords every season from several suppliers and it always just fills my wood shed. I have complained to 3 separate suppliers that I did not think I was getting what I paid for and get pretty much got the same answer. They load X cubic feet loose stack which they say will = 128 cubic feet tightly stacked. Well maybe I stack wicked tight, because it never does. I ordered the same quantity from Jac's, which comes in 2 deliveries. I had to call and cut the 2nd delivery in 1/2 because it would not fit I my shed, a 1st. On top of that I had no dirt and a only a 5 gal bucked full of wood shards useable as kindling. Quantity, quality and 1st class service what more could you ask for. Highly recommended.

Family owned, extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make sure that you are being taken care of. I am now a loyal customer. Ask the owner about dried kiln wood as it makes a huge difference with heat and last longer too.

high quality =premium pricing =you get what you pay for. they run a tight ship… delivered on time as promised. great wood/we bought the kiln dried because we just arrived in maine… hope to just get the seasoned stuff this go around
