As unexpected as it was to find a Mexican themed restaurant in the heart of hiking country in Canada, I cannot recommend this for the food. Lacking in spice and salt, the clever little menu emphasises tacos and margaritas. Tequila lovers beware....they make everything with Uno Mas tequila with no upgrade options with weak pours.The proteins and veg are obviously sourced along with the other Fairmont concepts as they were excellent quality but everything from the salsa to the margaritas were over sweet and missing balance. Portions appear small but are packed with good servings of protein.Careful if you order a salad. The food is served in a wire basket with a single sheet of paper so salad dressing seeps through.5 stars for the view and the quality of ingredients.

Probably the most fantastic mountain views in the whole wide world! Great place to share you favorite cocktail or a beer but for food?...forget about it! Very poor menu, extremely expensive and it basically tells you explicitly to go have munchies or a light meal somewhere else.

I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. Our food was given to the wrong table next to us and I had overheard the customers being confused on why they got it. They were seated 20 minutes after us and had not even looked at a menu. After a while we let the server know that we didn't receive anything and after confirming with a few other girls around her, she came over with a quick order without explaining what had happened. I had confronted her briefly asking if she could verify if our bill was correct as there was mix up with the table next to us. She was extremely rude upon response and lied about the confusion and proceeded to ask me what do you want me to do about it

Beautiful views and great concept, sadly the plates were poorly executed and didn’t contained all the ingredients it said in the menu, we asked for salt and cilantro(was included in the menu but not in the plate) and we waited 15 min to get and went I went up to get it the server was chatting in the kitchen, another server told me to wait at the table and waited another 5 min, name started with an L she was very careless and forgetful I asked for water and didn’t got it. It could be an awesome destination if the service was better and the execution of the plates was accurate to the menu. Thank you

It was a little challenging to find but was worth it! The views of the mountains and Bow Falls excellent! Your literally on top of the world! The staff was excellent. Service was great and the food?We order the 3 taco ms hit $22. The fried fish taco was the best we ever had. The fried avocado taco was good. The shrimp taco was also good.We also ordered the salad and it too was good!This restaurant is outside on the patio. There is no inside seating so be sure to call first to see if is open or not and that depends on the weather.Would we come back? Absolutely! Especially for the views and the energy of the space.

The menu/food is so disappointing. This is one of the nicest patios in Banff, attached to a stunning prestige hotel that has a few different fancy upscale restaurants/bars inside to match the vibe. In my opinion, they completely ruined The Lookout Patio by incorporating the current menu they've had for the past couple years. Firstly, the menu doesn't appeal to a wide range of people (unless your strictly going out for Mexican food) and the food was not even good! I like Mexican food but this was poor quality and expensive for the small portions they gave (not to mention the terrible customer service and long wait times to get the food). The food/menu choice for this Patio is so bizarre to me!!! WHY would they pick this menu out of everything they could possibly pick??....I don't want it to be an expensive/fancy menu but I think they would do wayyy better if they offered a pub style menu with a wide variety of dishes, drinks and appies. If they want to keep it a Mexican Restaurant, then they need to change the menu and the chef and make their food authentic and high quality (delicious + rave reviews). At this point, if you want a drink on a nice patio, this is the place, as far as a nice dinner to enjoy...I would go anywhere else.
