Sadly,, I have never been to this gallery until last week. What a lovely tranquil place. There was no cost to go in and leisurely browse. I went,in particular, to see the artwork of local students who had their talents featured over the past six weeks. My friend's daughter was one of those students.

This local art gallery was so lovely to visit. Admission is free. With large scale exhibitions spanning a range of topics, excellent curation, and a variety of mediums - including aural and interactive art. Our favourite exhibition was about The Hag" and was so stunningly beautiful my partner and I stayed in the exhibition room in awe for longer than we thought possible. They also have a small collection of art books for sale outside the exhibition hall. There is a paid parking lot and some free street parking up the road if you are willing to walk a bit longer.Currently undergoing renovations

Visited the Joyce Wieland exhibit, which was super interesting & included contemporary works by other artists who riff on Wieland's themes. Also took in two more exhibits, one of a Canadian woman of colour, involving multi-media presentations. The space is small and not too engaging, but the staff are friendly and the artwork is worth it. Parking across the street.

I recommend visiting KWAG, they regularly change their exhibitions, which are thoughtful and generally very well curated. My friend brought me to see the exhibition The Hedge Sitter, it was sublime- light, colour, sound! Animation video superimposed on peaked, stained glass" windows. I highly recommend seeing it. There were two other exhibitions

A great experience every time. It is small, but free! The exhibits are well thought out and contemporary, the staff are friendly and full of information, and they offer tutorials and classes. An absolute gem of KW.

Unfortunately when we arrived there were closed exhibits so it was not as fun as I'd hoped. I do love how big and open it is though. I will definitely be back when there is more to see.

The curation at KWAG is always impecable. The renovations look amazing making the building even more inviting. The commitment to art done by women and people of colour is visible everywhere and I hope they keep it up. There are several outreach programs and entrance is free. A jewel in the Waterloo region.
