Big Bus Victoria Ltd

Nice to take a quick tour of Victoria and get a lay of the land. Much smaller than the larger double decker tours, which we liked. However, agree with the other reviewers that seems to run kind of behind; but, if you're not in a hurry, it's a great option. Grabbed a groupon, which helped. Skip the castle if pressed for time: it's mostly a large house. The map was not helpful at all. None of the locations mentioned, were actually marked on the map, including the actual stops.

Get on, stay on, enjoy the tour.For our purposes it was perfect. We wanted to do the loop and get oriented. Snagged the Groupon deal, showed up at the Welcome Center and jumped on the bus. Seats are hard but the ambiance and audio are interesting enough to keep you distracted.That said, it appears to be an operational disaster. They operate on two schedules with no clue as to which is in effect. Call and ask" they say. Doing so leads a voice message and a full message mailbox. During the ride people tried to buy tickets. Their credit card machine didn't work and they couldn't make change. I also heard of busses breaking down and affecting their schedule.However

This is NOT the double-decker sight-seeing buses that pick up and drop off in front of the Empress Hotel. My 9 year-old son, and his 75 year-old grandmother got on a big bus, and when they hopped" off for ice cream at Fisherman's Wharf and tried to get picked back up on the next Big Bus

Excellent way to see the different areas in and around Victoria. Great commentary that included historically accurate information. The staff was very kind and accommodating.

Showed up to catch the 3pm bus so we'd have plenty of time to hop off at 2 different places for 1/2 hour each only to find the 3 and 3:30 buses cancelled. We were told the next bus was at 4. We purchased our tickets and wandered around until 4. That still gave us enough time to visit at least one place. When we got on at 4 we were told the bus we were on was the last one. The 4:30 and 5 buses were cancelled. Very disappointed. No getting off for pictures or looking at anything. I really felt sorry for those people that were on the earlier bus and expected to be picked up!

I live on a busy busy corner , a place where these monstrosities must stop and wait and they smell and fume and belch adding to the constant fallout of black particulate in the air. HELP_--- please don't use this service. Go for a walk and look up at the architecture. Build up an excellent appetite for the fare at our fine fine dining establishments. Discover all of the secretive shops filled with an array of all-sort. Things you will find no where else. You really should not do Victoria on a bus of all things. I have no stars for such a 'business'. my apologies to the serious and hardworking employees who do an excellent job.

Do NOT use Big Bus Tours. If you reserve online and purchase any of their combo packages, the tour sites will not honor your receipt. You are forced to take the tour to their downtown stand, get off and the have their rep Rafael laugh at you for buying your tickets online and not from him. Just a condescending young man who insults not just you but their online service and lack of working telephone numbers. Then an hour later, you might be done being insulted to get back on and try to finish the tour. Spent 4 hours on a suppose 1 1/2 hour tour and got to see nothing. Don't use them, they honor nothing you paid for.

Awful! I bought a 2 day pass through groupon. I confirmed with Big bus that they would be running for the 2 days of my trip. When we showed up we checked in without any problems. We were given the schedule and told to enjoy the 2 day pass. We went to our hotel and planned to take the 2nd to the last bus, then make 1 stop and return on the final bus... it never came! We were 10mins early and waited 20mins after. So it never came, and no one was around for us to ask why or if had been really early. So we were dissappointed but figured at least we have all day tomorrow. Well.... we showed up for the 1st bus of the day only to discover than NO buses were running the entire day! They did not tell us this when I emailed, nor did they tell us when I checked in the day prior, apparently they just stole our $70usd and couldn't care less. Even worse, they will not refund me because I bought through groupon. And groupon hasn't refunded me yet as I've been trying for weeks but they need to check to see if the service wasn't provided. Well it WASNT! :( So yah.... awful. Take the other hop-on-off bus company next time and maybe your vacation plans won't we ruined."

Booked our 'Combo Pass: Hop On-Hop off Bus Tour & Butchart Gardens Shuttle & Pass through Viator. Called one day prior as requested to insure seat availability. Met the "15 passenger van" at 9:30 a.m. (which arrived 30 minutes late) then loaded with 14 + 1 driver
