About the Photographer

Claude Gaumont

Born and raised in rural Alberta, Canada, he considers himself an outdoor enthusiast with a life-long passion for photography. He wore-out his first camera shooting slide film while trying to document birds, animals and nature in their purest forms.

Focusing a camera lens on Mother Nature provides him with many opportunities to bring awareness to what surrounds us, catching special light or a moment in time. Through the years he attended courses at the Nikon School of Photography and evolved his craft to embrace digital technologies.

More recently Claude’s artistic eye seeks the beauty of landscapes, prairie skies and old homesteads; capturing rural historical buildings before they and their stories disappear from our landscape forever. These places speak to him and he hopes they do the same for you.
