Avis Car Rental

I rented a vehicle from Calgary's airport Avis location. There were 10 people in front of me in line with 1 person working the desk. It took, on average, 10 minutes to register each guest. I understand that staff is hard to keep these days, but 10 minutes to register a guest in this day of pre-registration technology - really? Not a terrific experience. We were provided an upgrade - dirty and leaking so much oil we had to finally call their emergency service line as the Airport facility was too busy to return the 3 messages we left the next day. Oh my goodness. The replacement vehicle was fine, save for having to stop the next day to fill the front left tire with air. I'm thinking a different provider for my next trip.

I was charged 98cad for a tank of gas despite returning the car with a full tank. The rental agent who checked the car on return did check the gas and said she would remove the charge, this she did not do. Be very careful when returning your car and scrutinise your invoice very carefully. Thank you Avis for acting so promptly, refund has reached my credit card today. Good customer service. Thanks again. What the hell Avis, yesterday you put through a refund and today it’s been rescinded, what are you playing at? Please get this correctly fixed.

I recently rented a car from avis at the Calgary Airport and the process was easy and efficient. The line up was long but thats to be expected at a busy venue. The gentleman who helped me was very polite and informative.I had booked a mystery car rental as it was the cheapest option, thinking they'd give me a little Honda Civic or something but they ended up hooking me up with a beautiful new ram 1500. I was very excited about that!!Drop off process was easy. You drive up to the return space and the workers there do a quick check of the vehicle and you're on your way.I'd definitely recommend avis to my friends and family.

The process of taking and returning my car at Avis from Calgary Airport could not have been more pleasant. All personal, and I mean everyone, were very friendly and helpful. Avis is a first class operation with competitive prices. and Calgary Avis did not disappoint. Very good experience..

The WORST experience with car rental. We showed up to pick up our reserved car and had to wait for 2 hours before the car was ready. The staff kept saying “it’ll be a few minutes” which led to 2 hours and not a single apology. The staff proceeded to say that “this is how it is” and that “it’s just like the airline” and “I can’t help you”. The manager was not attentive nor helpful. The manager said that our reservation was the second one in line and yet called 4 other names before us. We had reservations booked for our trip which all got delayed due to the late pick up. Instead of trying to provide any customer service, the manager told us that we can void the reservation and payment, knowing that we would be left without a car.The line up was busy and there was more than two dozen people waiting for their cars, meanwhile other rental companies were able to manage their reservations and flow of people as pictured. I would recommend that you go to ANY OTHER car rental companies.

Made a reservation online and so the pickup and drop off process was relatively quick and easy. What elevated our experience the most was Hana, the person who helped us. We originally reserved a Tesla but as we got closer to the pickup date, we began to feel some range anxiety though we had mapped out superchargers throughout Calgary for our trip. We were also headed to Banff and Drumheller. When Hana discovered our itinerary, she provided recommendations and an alternative for a gasoline vehicle which would save us a lot more time when it came to waiting for a charge vs. filling up at a gas station. Plus, our hotel didn't have a charger so we would've had to park a block away. As a result, we couldn't thank Hana enough for saving us so much time on our trip.Cons: interior was a bit dirty and smelled like sunscreen but overall condition wasn't badExterior was dirty

The airline we flew with canceled our Friday flight and put us a day early. Our car rental was for Friday but Eric at Avis was so happy to help us as we got the car a day early which was so helpful. He even bumped up our car from a mystery car to a luxury car. BMW X3. He also gave us some sightseeing tips. We would highly recommend Avis car rentals at Calgary international airport.

We recently travelled to Calgary for a family trip. My preferred car wasn't available at the time of pick-up. The agent looked for other options and after 15 minutes, they gave me an SUV which is a free upgrade. The car was clean and the gas was full as always. The staff was friendly from the time of pick up and drop off. Will definitely come back on my next trip.

Pretty smooth getting the Jeep, we were lucky as we reserved pretty late but we loved the jeep we got. It was clean, the customer service was good as they explained everything in detail. More pricy than other car rental places but convenient location.

I recently rented a mystery vehicle from Avis at Calgary airport. It is a very busy location and the staff deal with a wide range of customers. The staff stay polite and answers questions as best they can. The gentleman that helped me answered all of my questions explained the procedure in detail. My mystery vehicle was a Ford F-150 which was actually very economical in gas as I drove each day to Banff and back.
